I've been inspired by hunting online for music artist I've not heard of before and finding beautiful lyrics, the type that make you smile or cry or do both at the same time.

My kids and their antics are inspiring me lately.
I just finished a layout of my 2-yr old sleeping in her doorway the night she climbed out of her crib. It happened about 20 times before I realized, ok, this is not going to work.
We put her to bed on the floor on her mattress, but that wasn't happening either: she stood in her doorway with her pacifier and blankie until she finally got tired and fell asleep right there.
Not a planned layout but sometimes things just happen that you have to scrap!

I have been inspired lately going through scrapbook albums I haven't looked at in a long time and remembering why I scrapbook. Some of these older layouts remind me about little things my kids used to do or say. Things I would never remember if I didn't scrapbook the moments. It's brought me out of a several month long creative dry spell.

Lately I've been inspired by old family photos and history. As a result I've been working on an album highlighting my husband's grandfather's military service.

Today my kids inspired me. My 8 year old wants to learn to use photoshop for making some videos. We spent time together taping and then editing. It was fun!

Lately I've been watching alot of parenting. Moms correcting(or not) the kid(s) when it's needed. I've watched how they've addressed their children when 'issues' arises. It's inspired me to start a journal about my own parenting styles. Why I do what I do and teach what I teach to my children. Often times people can speculate and assume why you do certain things...but I am sure they have specific reasoning to choose to teach certain lessons. When my kids grow up..I want them to know why I chose the lessons I did for them.

Even though I was there in April, I am still inspired by our trip to China to adopt Stella. Every one we met on our journey was so kind, and so peaceful. I want to live like that, and I want my children to be that sweet to all they meet.

My inspiration lately has been my father who is four years cancer free and healthier than ever. As painful as it must have been for him to suffer through the months of chemo and the recovery from surgery that created a new bladder from a portion of his small intestine, he never complained or lamented. Once he was strong enough after the last chemo treatments, he began a regimen of walking which gradually shifted to running and he now regularly participates in mini-marathons. Such an inspiration to all who have been through this journey with him. I am unbelievably blessed to still have him here with me and thank God daily that my Dad is only a phone call away.
Thanks for this exercise in gratitude :)

I am so inspired lately by the promise of fall coming! The new school supplies, the sweaters on sale (even though it is too hot to wear them yet!), and the idea of coming home to crockpot suppers and crisp air soon enough is making me want to get cozy and comfty and scrap what matters most lately!
