Yesterday & Today Begins In One Week & A Giveaway
Tags:In just one week my new workshop begins at Big Picture Scrapbooking:Yesterday & Today.
It's hard to believe it is almost finally here.
And in case you didn't know already, you're invited to join me.
Here's what I want you to know if you are still considering embarking on this journey with me:
• With a focus on the stories from yesterday & the stories from today, this class is really an in-depth look at the way I scrapbook.
• Each week (on Thursdays) you will receive an email inviting you to the classroom where a video presentation will be waiting for you to access on your own time (you do not need to be online at a certain time - it's just one of the awesome things about Big Picture's classroom set-up). These video presentations are not just a 5-15 minute talk about the subject and the layout - so far they are averaging around an hour. During that hour my goal is to inspire you to take a look at the way in which you scrapbook and encourage you to focus on the things that matter most to you within the framework of the theme for that week.
• In addition to the video presentations there are weekly video tutorials showing my processes for concepts and techniques using Photoshop Elements.
• For those of you, like me, who like to actually read the weekly content there will be a color PDF download detailing the concepts and information covered in the video presentation (as well as a how-to for the weekly project).
• Each week there will be a digital element download and a digital layered template (all new). The digital elements will be used as printables (hybrid elements) on the weekly layout and the layered template will match the paper layout I create for each week.
• Even if you will be away for a time during the class you will still have access to the materials.
• The class will have it's own message board & gallery for sharing and communicating with one another (including me).
• This workshop is a chance for you to:
investigate your past through words + photos
do something meaningful with older photos if you have them (or to tell those stories that have meaning even if you don't possess the photos)
tell your own personal stories of success + challenge + growth
work on embracing imperfection & going with the flow
celebrate your everyday life + make sure you are capturing stories that are meaningful to you today
connect with other people who care deeply about collecting + celebrating the stories of their lives
• The cost for this 13 week class is $99.
I am really, really excited for this workshop to get underway.
I hope to see you there.
Want to know more? Additional details, an audio introduction, and registration can be found here. Registration will close on October 7.

I would love to document the pictures and stories I have of my Aunt Marie. I was only 8yrs. old when she died. I don't want to ever forget her smile, her smell, her love for her family and nature. Thanks for considering me in your drawing.

I'd love to take advantage of the fact that I have both my grandmother's still living as well as my husband's grandmother, and to gather stories from them about their childhood and ask about things I remember from my childhoood time with them.

I'd like to document the first time I baked bread, and how learning that skill transformed some ideas I had about what I was capable of creating.

I believe I would like to document my relationship with all of my grandparents when I was growing up - especially since I've just become a grandmother and I no longer have any of my grandparents with us. I can certainly think of others, too, but that one came to mind first.

Hi Ali. Thank you so much for the chance to win a spot in your class. There is so much about ME that I want to document. From the life lessons I've learned that I want to share with my kids, to the struggles of being a teen mom, unfulfilled hopes and dreams, achievements I've been able to accomplish by myself and the impact my sister's passing has had on me are all things (and more) that I want to document. I feel like my heart and soul is just so full of things that need to get out and god-willing all of that will find its way to paper someday. peace and blessings..Cindy

Two Christmases ago my mom gave each of us four children a photo album filled with photos from our lives from infancy right through our weddings and birth of our children. I would like to tell the story of this album and the photos held within. I spend so much time and effort documenting the stories of my three children's lives; I would love an opportunity to document my own. Thanks so much for being a constant source of inspiration!

I would like to document how I change and evolve as a person as I go through different stages in my life. What was important to me before I had child, my career, etc... to what is important to me now.

Thanks so much for the chance to win!
There are so many stories I'd like to be sure to document but one to start with would be the "story of us" for my husband and I.

I'd like to document what my maternal grandparents were like. After my grandfather passed away last January, my family collected photographs spanning 90 plus years of their lives.

I would like to document the stories of my parent's childhood with my grandparents, great aunts/uncles, etc...my heritage. I feel a little lost when/if people ask about my ancestors. I need to have an understanding and knowledge database before its too late. No one I am aware of documents items other than my grandma who has passed.
thanks for the opportunity.

I've been told I should keep a journal about the current journey my husband and I are on as we start our family. I'm thinking this might be the genre to use.

I would like to document my unique childhood. For example, I had a friend five years older than me who lived on a houseboat on the Red River and never attended one day of school in her life. She sang and painted and read and used to take a lot of time with me. The only family she had was her father. She joined the Army when he died and I have never seen her since. I do not have any pictures of her or us, but I do have a picture that she painted and many, many fond memories. Thanks for the chance to win!
