Yesterday & Today Begins In One Week & A Giveaway
Tags:In just one week my new workshop begins at Big Picture Scrapbooking:Yesterday & Today.
It's hard to believe it is almost finally here.
And in case you didn't know already, you're invited to join me.
Here's what I want you to know if you are still considering embarking on this journey with me:
• With a focus on the stories from yesterday & the stories from today, this class is really an in-depth look at the way I scrapbook.
• Each week (on Thursdays) you will receive an email inviting you to the classroom where a video presentation will be waiting for you to access on your own time (you do not need to be online at a certain time - it's just one of the awesome things about Big Picture's classroom set-up). These video presentations are not just a 5-15 minute talk about the subject and the layout - so far they are averaging around an hour. During that hour my goal is to inspire you to take a look at the way in which you scrapbook and encourage you to focus on the things that matter most to you within the framework of the theme for that week.
• In addition to the video presentations there are weekly video tutorials showing my processes for concepts and techniques using Photoshop Elements.
• For those of you, like me, who like to actually read the weekly content there will be a color PDF download detailing the concepts and information covered in the video presentation (as well as a how-to for the weekly project).
• Each week there will be a digital element download and a digital layered template (all new). The digital elements will be used as printables (hybrid elements) on the weekly layout and the layered template will match the paper layout I create for each week.
• Even if you will be away for a time during the class you will still have access to the materials.
• The class will have it's own message board & gallery for sharing and communicating with one another (including me).
• This workshop is a chance for you to:
investigate your past through words + photos
do something meaningful with older photos if you have them (or to tell those stories that have meaning even if you don't possess the photos)
tell your own personal stories of success + challenge + growth
work on embracing imperfection & going with the flow
celebrate your everyday life + make sure you are capturing stories that are meaningful to you today
connect with other people who care deeply about collecting + celebrating the stories of their lives
• The cost for this 13 week class is $99.
I am really, really excited for this workshop to get underway.
I hope to see you there.
Want to know more? Additional details, an audio introduction, and registration can be found here. Registration will close on October 7.

I would like to document the books I read as a kid and compare them to the ones my kids read now. Same with the cartoons I watched - especially since the kids are aksing if I watched it when I was a kid and was it in black and white!

I would like to document the stories that my kids love to hear me tell. Such as the stories of my childhood pets, times I spent with my grandparents, how my brothers and I spent our summers. It would be so nice to have them written down for future generations to enjoy.

I want to share the everyday stuff. I think that is what is most important in life, the little everyday things.

3 spots in the class. Yay!
I have been itching to document my love of dance, both when I was 9 and now. I would also love to compare it to my daughter who now loves to dance too.
Would also like to document how magical my grandparents house was to me.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I would love to tell the story of my childhood. There are not a lot of pictures of me growing up or going through school. But I have a lot of memories I would like to get down on paper.

I rarely, no, I never scrap about myself - which is why I took the Me: The Abridged Version class because that eases me into focusing on me! Now that I am rolling on that, I think this would be a great follow on for more in-depth writing about my childhood. Thanks for the chance to win a spot!

Hi Ali,
I'm looking forward to your class. I would like to document more about my parents, especially my mother, as my children never met her.
Regards,
Cindy

Ooh, this one is kinda hard, most of us have difficulties scrapping about ourselves, haven't we. But I like to record the way I am growing in the past few months, and how I am learning new and old things. How I have to reflect on my life up till now and see what the future might hold for me, and what I need to do to stay happy and follow my dreams.

I want to find a way to document how becoming a mother changed me. From the moment my oldest daughter was born I felt a huge shift in my perspective of life. It was incredible how much joy I felt. I want to share those experiences and feelings with my own daughters.

Hi Ali,
Coming from a broken home and living far from family, I would like to learn how to pull all the pieces together - to capture that elusive family connection.
Thank you for the opportunity!

This is something I have wanted to document for a very long time, but not sure how...I grew up with an alcoholic father...I loved him, but also had so much anger and heartache because of him. He died more than 30 years ago, and I think I am finally ready to document who he was, a kind and gentle man, a father I did love, but who had an addiction that took his life at exactly my age right now...53. I would love this course so that I can go back and remember the positives as well as the heartaches.

to document the relationship my sisters and i have with my amazing mother. little things that i want us never to forget as we get older and go on our separate paths away from home to colleges and to lives and families that are all our own.
i have this almost insane desire to do this, especially now, because my grandmother (my mother's mom) is not doing so good health wise or mentally. we are all scared she's going to be forgetting us and i'm terrified. its at these points in life where the little things become so big and all i can do is hope i never forget them.
