Journal Your Christmas Giveaway

The first time I did any sort of journal/creative adventure during the holiday season was Shimelle Laine's Journal Your Christmas back in 2005 (check out my December 2005 archives for more).
My experience in Shimelle's workshop inspired me to create my first December Daily in 2007 that was published in my Studio A column in Creating Keepsakes magazine. The main differences being that I set up the structure of my album in advance (trying to keep it simple) and that I wanted to focus on documenting the daily activities over the course of the 25 days leading up to Christmas without specific prompts.
It's a creative adventure I highly recommend so I thought it would be fitting to give away a spot to Shimelle's class this week.
One person and a friend of their choice will recieve a spot in Shimelle Laine's fabulous Journal Your Christmas online workshop.
Journal your Christmas is an online class that takes you right through the Christmas season, from the 1st of December to the 6th of January - the twelfth day of Christmas. Through 37 full colour prompts that arrive in your inbox daily, you'll be inspired by topics that let you enjoy this year's celebrations while reliving your very favourite Christmas memories, and you'll have plenty of ideas for making your pages with hundreds of beautiful examples from a variety of scrappers.
Instead of letting the holidays run you, a Christmas journal has helped many women take back their Christmas so they can enjoy and celebrate the magic of Christmas. Other class benefits include a printable Christmas planner, digital and printable supplies designed exclusively for class and a bonus guide to improving your Christmas photographs including easy-to-use tips from dozens of professional photographers.
To be entered into the giveaway please leave a comment below sharing how you plan to create a more sane holiday season (or more crazy if that's what you need). Comments will be closed on Thursday at 8pm Pacific with the winners posted shortly after.

WOW ALI!!! Everything you posted here really speaks to me and the questions that I posted on your last blog entry! I had wanted advice on what to write about and this sounds like the perfect thing! :)
As I'm a student, my finances aren't super flexible, so to make my holiday shopping more sane and more fun I'm making lots of holiday gifts for family and friends!
Thanks for the opportunity to WIN!!! :)

Ever the realist, my Christmas will not be saner, rather I will just spread the tasks and to-do lists over a longer period (starting now!)... that way the lead-up to the hectic festive season will seem less daunting and the joy of watching Christmas through my childrens eyes will linger that bit longer! A win/win situation for all... one which would be enhanced that little bit more if I were lucky enough to win this fabulous prize ;).

I am hoping to simplify by just enjoying the season more and not worrying about the things that in the end are really not that important....feeling and enjoying the true spirit of the season. This will be a gift for both myself and my family :)

Since we are low on funds (9 months of unemployment) I plan on trying to make very personal gifts for my family who to my fault do not have a lot of pictures of our girls. They (the pictures) are on our hard drive. So I'm hoping to make the gifts and have the girls help me create a little something for each one.
I also want to keep up on my journaling and blogging, this time is busy and since we are hoping a job shows up soon, I know we may end up spending some of it apart and I don't want my husband to miss anything.

more emphasis the Experience not the stuff. We are in a new community this year so I am excited to see the lights "round here" , try some new coffee places; new recipies and some new holiday events. I also made a trip to my SB store tonight for some small bits of inspiration, a little journaling notebook to carry and capture thoughts and feelings and some pretty little accents, my goal is to use what I have, accumulate less, tell the story with words and pictures...
could use a little boost in the idea dept though!!

Most of my holiday season is quite same I must say. I have 2 little kids so I try not to do too much. But what we do planned to do we make the best of it and have complete good time. So I would say plan quality and not quantity is the way to a sane holiday season.

Sad to say but this year I'm not going to try to get my husbands side of the family to come over for a celebration. I try every year without success. I plan on spending the holidays with close friends and all our children; hoping not to get snowed in again this year and heading out to Disney World Christmas eve with my husband and children to meet up with my side of the family who are flying in from Canada! Sane yet crazy!

We will be following the same traditions this year, but planning to spend a LOT less $$ this year. This will be my 3rd year doing a Dec. Daily album. I want to thank you SOOO much for helping me to SLOW down. And to enjoy all of the little things, the special moments that might otherwise be lost during the busy holiday season. You have changed the way that I celebrate during the holidays :) {Also loving yesterday & today.}

After too many years of letting anxiety paralyze me during the Christmas season, I am ready to live in the precious present moment. I'm excited to keep a December Daily journal this year to remind me of all the simple joys that make this time of the year special. Thanks for the great idea :)

I'm just trying to keep focused on what is important. Last year I didn't send a single card out. And the world did not end.
I'll do what brings joy and not what brings stress. :)

Lots of lists to keep me organized; handmade gifts almost completed, a living tree simply decorated from Nov. 28 - Jan. 1, and family and friends. Two week holiday 'cause I'm a teacher. I'm gonna be a happy camper!

I am just going to go with the flow this Christmas. I am headed for my home town to spend time with my family and a couple of young nephews. No expectations. Just experiencing.

This season leading up to Christmas is crazy, and I'm going to have to make a conscious effort to take a break and reflect and spend some time seeking out the quiet this season.
