Saying Goodbye To Studio A
Tags:
The December issue of Creating Keepsakes is the last issue for my monthly Studio A column.
Studio A debuted back in January 2006 (the first theme was scrapbooking your intentions). Each month since then I have been given the opportunity to create pages & projects that were interesting & inspiring to me at the time. Over the years CK gave me a ton of freedom to decide my own content/topics and allowed me to find & maintain my own voice in the pages of the magazine. For that gift I am extremely grateful.
I am also especially thankful to my column editor Lori Fairbanks who was always able to take what I had written and make it flow and fit the space available.
The decision to end the column was mutual; the editors and I both felt like it was time for a number of reasons. I am very thankful to CK for the opportunity and the experience. I am currently working with the magazine to gain access to the Studio A PDF's to add to the initial archive located here. I will let you know when those files are updated.
Will you still see my pages & projects in Creating Keepsakes? At this time, no (you may potentially see some feature articles from me in the future but nothing is currently scheduled).
Right now I am making plans for what's next for me. I will continue blogging. I will continue designing products for Designer Digitals and Technique Tuesday. I hope to do more online education. I will continue telling my stories and making stuff. I am looking forward to moving forward.
I am also very thankful for all of you who have read my column over the last few years and have shared your own stories with me. I love what I do and am so grateful that I get to share my passion for telling stories creatively with photos & words.

Wow. Studio A and Becky's Sketch were the first two things I always read in CK. It's also the only reason I'm still a subscriber. I'm sad to see both of you leaving.
On the other hand, I'm so glad that you will still be blogging. You are so inspiring on so many levels for me. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. I will look forward to continue supporting your creative endeavors here.

Wow, I am crushed. Your column was easily my favorite, and consistently had creative, attractive, but doable ideas. Does this mean no new books too?
Thank goodness we still have the blog! Much appreciation for all that you do and all that you share.

It's like the end of an era! Seriously. This is the only mag (and I have subscribed to many over the years) where I consistently flip to the same sectin FIRST the minute it hits my doorstep, and that has always been Studio A. BUT---totally excited about all you are doing and continue to do and every stage that is next. Would LOVE to see those PDFs soon. =) Thanks for time well spent in "Studio A." ;-)

I will miss Studio A. I was about to re-subscribe but am thinking otherwise now. You are such an inspiration to us all. I look forward to following your future endeavors, I know I will not be disappointed. Happy that you are going to continue blogging. Every morning as I boot up my computer I always think "I wonder what Ms. Ali has to say or show today?" As long as I get my "Ali fix" somewhere, I have no complaints. Here's to moving onward and upward, right?!!!! Supporting you all the way. Happy Thanksgiving!

I will so miss Studio A. It was the main reason for my subscription to CK. I very much hope you're still planning on sharing your creativity in some form that I can afford. If CK have made this decision, then I think they've made a huge mistake.
I've learnt a lot from you ... Thank you, Ali. Good luck with your future endeavors, you have heaps of talent and vision and a great philosophy. I hope you're able to go forward with your talents in the way that feels best for you.

Oh, no!!! Your column is my favorite thing about CK. I will continue to look for your work in other places. I am taking Yesterday & Today now, and hope to take more online classes that you teach. I know you'll be super succesful in everything you do.

Look up the words "inspiration" and "class act" in the dictionary, Ali, and you will see a photo of yourself. So many of us have struggled at times to give strength to what we do as scrapbookers and you have helped us realize that what we do is life itself. May your next chapter be as rewarding as the pages from your past. We welcome the journey with you! Thank you.

So grateful for all your inspiration at CK over the years, and for that original article that told about your blog here (first time I even heard the word!).
So many great magazines have folded this year, CK and The Week were the only two I still received. I'm sure CK will be capable of new great things, but my subscription will now run out. Between Write-Click-Scrapbook and your site, I have all the inspiration I need right here.
