Saying Goodbye To Studio A
The December issue of Creating Keepsakes is the last issue for my monthly Studio A column.
Studio A debuted back in January 2006 (the first theme was scrapbooking your intentions). Each month since then I have been given the opportunity to create pages & projects that were interesting & inspiring to me at the time. Over the years CK gave me a ton of freedom to decide my own content/topics and allowed me to find & maintain my own voice in the pages of the magazine. For that gift I am extremely grateful.
I am also especially thankful to my column editor Lori Fairbanks who was always able to take what I had written and make it flow and fit the space available.
The decision to end the column was mutual; the editors and I both felt like it was time for a number of reasons. I am very thankful to CK for the opportunity and the experience. I am currently working with the magazine to gain access to the Studio A PDF's to add to the initial archive located here. I will let you know when those files are updated.
Will you still see my pages & projects in Creating Keepsakes? At this time, no (you may potentially see some feature articles from me in the future but nothing is currently scheduled).
Right now I am making plans for what's next for me. I will continue blogging. I will continue designing products for Designer Digitals and Technique Tuesday. I hope to do more online education. I will continue telling my stories and making stuff. I am looking forward to moving forward.
I am also very thankful for all of you who have read my column over the last few years and have shared your own stories with me. I love what I do and am so grateful that I get to share my passion for telling stories creatively with photos & words.
Congratulations, Ali, on such an amazing run! It's always been my most favorite part of CK : ) Can't wait to see what you do next.

I feel like I was blindsided today - your announcement about moving on was the fifth one I received. While I am happy for all of you and completely understand the need for change, I am personally feeling very sad. Your creative energy has been very inspiring to me. Your emphasis on keeping things real a constant reminder of why I scrap. Best wishes to you in all your future endeavors.

Wow, I will so miss reading your Studio A. I often flipped right to your pages while walking back from the mailbox with the magazine. I have all of them in a binder and whenever I'm stuck for a layout idea, I just leaf through the pages and get inspired. Looking forward to seeing what is next for you!

Life is really about change isn't it? Congratulation to the new opportunities that are coming your way. My small vote would be for online classes... yes, yes, yes!! I love your clean, warm, fun design style. I was not born with a creative gene but that doesn't stop me by learning. I would DEFINITELY sign up for an online class. Thank you for everything you share with us. - Cathy F.

You and Becky were my main reasons for subscribing to CK the last 2 yrs. I look forward to the blog continuing and you having more time to work on your own stuff. Good Luck, Ali.

Oh no! Ali, your column was always what I looked forward to the most when I received my CK in the mail (and the reason I attended CKU-Orlando in 2007). I love your work — you always inspire us with your layouts and your words. Thank you so much for helping me become more creative and for teaching us that it is OK and to embrace imperfection along the way... scrapbooking is supposed to be fun, not stressful! I will always follow your creative spirit to see what your next adventure will be! Please keep us "paper crafters" in mind and don't go 100% digital... please! LOL! Good luck! I cannot wait for you to share more of your future plans with us... hugs!
