December Daily 2009 : Day One
Tags:WELCOME TO DECEMBER DAILY 2009
Here's to keeping it simple: a photo, a few words, and a mini flash card from Kari Craft all tucked into the pocket of my album.
I may add something from later today on the back of this photo or I will use the back as part of Day Two. I am thinking about stitching along the top after I make something for the back.

SUPPLIES : 25 Days of December Photo Overlays (made it larger and moved the line in Photoshop); Magic Flash Card from Kari Craft; Garamond
Here's what the page looked like before adding the content:
This post is part of a series documenting the month of December 2009. You find out more information and view all the completed pages of my album here.
SCRAPBOOKING FOR GOOD : I recently donated signed copies of my books Life Artist, A Designer's Eye for Scrapbooking 2, Sharing Your Story, and an original canvas from my Life Artist book to Becca Sutton who is raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. These items are all available for bidding through an auction she is hosting here.

What a coincidence, or probably not so much, since we both have boys, but my two boys did the exact same thing today, opening their new Lego Advent Calendar "Day 1" which was the (Lego boy with the snowballs). This is also my day one for my Dec. Daily book. Although I must add that your Simon looks so much better in the photo than my 2 boys do in their boxer shorts and no shirt, opening theirs.

Charlene,
Thank you for this link - I will check it out this evening. Very excited about the idea, just didn't know how to get started. Scrappers are the best.

Hi Ali,
You say simple, but the whole digital thing still freaks me out. I can see how it will work once it is set up. I just have to take the plunge I guess.

Ali, I just completed page one of my very first DD album and I just want to thank you. I already feel like I'm approaching the holidays differently this year. Rather than getting all stressed out about the shopping and baking and running around like a crazy woman, I'm looking forward to finding a bit of magic in each day...and capturing it along the way. Thank you for the inspiration.

I have a printer question for you... It looks like you print most of your photos at home; what kind of printer do you have? We are looking for a new one and I'd love one that will print great looking prints as well as everything else. Thanks!

So exciting to see your first page! I've taken my photo, will journal tonight and will order a week's worth of photos this weekend. I'm so excited to be joining along with you this year.
I have a couple of questions about PSE and your overlay--You mentioned that you moved the line, how did you do that? Can you color the 'december' one color and the number/circle a second color? Can you share how to do that?
Thanks.

I've got my Dec. Daily base complete & made my photo today. No time to journal or print photo tonight, hope I can "catch up" tomorrow. This is my first year to try this, very excited about it!! Thanks for all your inspiration!
How do you move the line on your digital overlays?? Can it be done with PSE? Is there a tutorial that you know of? I was trying to use one of your overlays on a photo the other day & the line kept going across a person's face & I wished to myself that there was an easy way to move it.

I just wanted to write a quick note of thanks to you. I am so darn excited about this project. I love the simplicity and quickness of it, that I am slowing down this month, and that I am recording our stories of the holiday season. Thanks so, so much. A Lego advent calendar???!!!! That's awesome!!! I'm getting one for next year! I did the same type of pic for day one. We have a snowman calendar where you put the snowflake in his pocket. Not as exciting as Legos thats for sure! :)

I love how it looks!
I forgot to take a picture yesterday
of them decorating the mantle and opening up their ADvent calendars! oops!
I guess when it comes right down to it, I haven't even made the album yet anyway! I did end up doing it last year, just not exactly how I wanted to.
goodness, time moves too fast!
thanks for sharing!
