This one isn't really about the holidays but it's a tradition we have kept up since the kids started school. Once they are on their holiday vacation from school and before Christmas, we all go out for lunch and a movie together. It's actually some peaceful together time as a family while in the midst of what is a very busy time.

Watching our favorite Christmas movies together and eating Christmas cookies hot out of the oven. Mmmm, I think that it is time to watch Muppet's Christmas Carol.

My favourite Christmas tradition is decorating the Christmas tree with my kids and seeing how excited they are every year!

The kids make an ornament each day from December 1 through 24. None are too difficult, but they are perfect for two K kiddos [kindergarten and 2nd grade]. I actually was not going to do the ornaments this year, but both asked about it when we started digging out Christmas decorations.
This year when we unpacked ornaments, we reminisced over their ornament creations. So much fun.

Today we are going to 2 local Christmas parades. It's a tradition we have been doing since my son was born. We have been in the rain/snow, COLD and sometimes it has been rather pleasant. Today it is cloudy and cold.

I think my favorite December tradition is the tamale feed we have every Christmas Eve. It started out as just our family, but over the years we have added an assortment of people and families with no relatives in town--my friend from England, a friend with a pilot husband who is often gone, a single mother with no family anywhere.... We get together and celebrate the night with a lot of love and happiness. (We have unknowingly shared things like chicken pox and the stomach flu too!) The kids are worn out and ready for bed right after, and we all feel like we had that closeness that the season is supposed to bring. Love the giveaways! Thank you!

My favorite holiday tradition is sharing quality time with both family and friends. Not that I don't do this other times of year also, but it is especially meaningful to me at the holidays.

My favorite holiday tradition, I can hardly pick one! I would say that ONE favorite is the 20+ year old gift box with a Christmas print on it in our basement. It is so old and worn, and is taped up on every corner because it is literally disintegrating from age. Every year my mom tries to throw it away without us noticing, and every year one of us gets to it before she does and wraps a gift up in it. It's always a fun surprise to see who will get a present in the "Merry Christmas" gift box! :)

One of my fav traditions it taking the kids to see Santa at a huge Mall in the city. The same guy has been here as long as I can remember (and was sad that he wasn't here last year, I presume due to all our Arabic National Holidays we had last December, fair dos!). Very much looking forward to going this year, I fear it will be my twins last year of "believing", so I really want to soak it all up!

The TREE is my favorite! Taking out each ornament and all the memories they hold...now that would be a great documentation!! (Note to self)
We get a new ornament every year - I love it, the kids love it, I love Christmas time!

Our favorite tradition is making a gingerbread village. Gramma makes a big church, and the rest of us make houses for the street. All four kids, 17, 14, 7, and 4 make a house and personalize it with icing and candy. We create a village square surrounded by the houses, put snow on the ground, fences, gates, and trees, and of course, little people sledding and rushing home with packages. We even have Christmas lights! It really gets us all in the mood! Thanks for the chance to win...beautiful giveaways!
