Our favorite December tradition is going out here in the PNW, usually in the cold and wet weather, and cutting our own Christmas tree...coming home for a cup of hot cocoa and then sit and admire our efforts. (it always needs to drip-dry for at least a day before it comes into the house!)Great giveaways again..thanks so much for offering them to us.

My favorite tradition is making frosted sugar cookies. This started with my grandma and me every year for as long as I can remember and now continues with my daughters and me. That recipe takes me right back to being ten years old.

My favorite holiday tradition is English Crackers. My grandsons love to pop them open. They put on their paper hat that is inside and pose for the yearly photo. Such fun times :)

Our tradition...don't laugh... the Pig's Head gift every year. We have a white elephant gift exchange among the adults, and what was once part of a pig doll is now only the head. We've prettied him up a bit over the years; a little more color on his cheeks and some glasses, and it used to be that only the newbie in the family got it, but now it's whoever has the luck of the draw/select in our White Elephant. We all love it...and we're starting the next generation on it. Totally "be of good cheer" for the season!!!

One of the traditions I enjoy most is picking the perfect Christmas tree with my hubby and his best friend and setting up our own and just stare at it for the rest of the day. It just sets the Christmas in our home officially.

I really LOVE those canvases! They look beautiful and you chose great pictures :) I am late getting my December album underway (planned mine to begin on the day after Thanksgiving when we picked up our tree) but plan to get it rolling today. I think the letters in the envelope are a great idea and I am SO going to do that!

Favorite tradition is the 25 day countdown to Christmas we do for our daughter. Everyday she opens a door or window to her wooden christmas house to find a clues that lead to the treat of the day. She has no trouble getting ready for school on time on those days!:0)

Our favorite tradition is to have Xmas eve. dinner in our pjs and its a breakfast for dinner type thing - scrambled eggs, toast and hot chocolate - something easy since there will be lots of food the next day. We play board games, tell our favorite memories/gifts from our childhood xmas's, like the time, my sister was so excited about my birthday gift (its two days after xmas) that she blurted out what it was before I could unwrap the present. My mom was so disappointed and my sister was mortified she has spilled the beans and was in trouble. I was oblivious, but was appreciative of her enthusiasm for my gift. I had not idea she blurted it out until many years later when she brought it up. We were caught up in the moment and I love to recapture that enthusiasm with the next generations. My brothers and sisters do the PJ and dinner tradition when we are at any of each others homes during the holidays and we are all in our late 40's/just turning 50s. But it makes us all happy.

My favorite tradition is making a gingerbread house with my two boys. They are 4 and 3 so it's a very messy process! But we have so much fun :)

Wonderful giveaways just in time for Christmas :) Our tradition has been our Dept 56 village we put up each year. There is something magical about designing it and adding something new each year. Now our teen does the designing and I love seeing her excitement in our tradition.

What a fantastic giveaway!
My favorite thing we do in December is this: I wrap up 24 different Childrens story books and put them under the tree. Each night before bed, the kids get to choose a new "present" to unwrap, and then we read that story.
I do have 24 of my own Christmas books, but this year I went to the local Library and checked out all new books. Just to mix it up a little.

My favorite is putting up the tree on the 1st or nearest to the first as we can. I love seeing my husband pull out the ornaments and remembering where we got them or better yet, who made them. That is the number one favorite. laura D

While it is simple... my favorite tradition is reading "Twas the night before Christmas" with our son and this year our daughter. We started this two years ago when we had our son and he was a preemie so we spent Christmas in the NICU. We will do it every year. Remembering how tiny he was that first year and how blessed we are.
