My fav tradition in december is finding new traditions to start...I ask around and get ideas from everyone I talk too and blogs I visit...and then start some new traditions for our family. This year we are wrapping up all our christmas books and putting them under the tree and each night the girls get to open a book and that is the one we ready! Leaves everything to chance on what the story will be! It's fun!

Would it be selfish to say my birthday? It's the 15th and I love the evening of fun I have planned with my girlfriends. Thanks!

One of our favourite December traditions is the Christmas concert that the concert band I play in does. It's mostly Christmas music, but we throw in some non-seasonal music too. It's free, but we accept donations to the local food bank. It's fun for the whole family.

My favorite tradition is listening to Christmas music and making cookies with my kids. It reminds me of my childhood and is such a fun tradition to pass down to them.

Christmas Tree Campout - one night of holiday videos with sleeping bags as we all sleep in the living room, on the floor with the tree lit . . . magic. ~Monda

I love these giveaways! Every Christmas we get a new ornament and an ornament with a frame so we can put our family picture in it for that year. My hope is that eventually we will be able to have a tree with just the pictures on it of us from Christmas' past!

Great giveaways, thanks Ali and sponsors :)
My Christmas traditions are in transition as I move from my childhood traditions to starting new ones with my own kids. I loved being able to choose one present to open on Christmas Eve when I was a kid, but I think I will really enjoy doing the daily advent calendar with my kids.

I have so many December traditions...it's hard to choose! I think indoor camping by the Christmas tree the night we decorate it. Or building a gingerbread house with the kids. Or baking tons of cookies. Or...too many to choose from!

It so hard to pick a favorite. I love all of it! But I think that putting decorations we have collected through the years together as a family on our tree might be my favorite.
I am going to order photos for my december daily from Color Inc. today!

Yesterday we baked gingerbread cookies at my mom's together with my brother and his family. I've been doing this since I was a kid and it's a tradition I really cherish - and the cookies tastes good too.

My favorite holiday tradition is going back home and spending Christmas with my parents. They are both in their 80's and still living out on the farm. I dread the day when we will no longer be able to go back "home for the holidays."

We have a lot of traditions surrounding Christmas, but one of the ones I enjoy the most is DH and DD putting up the Christmas tree. DH assembles the tree and puts the lights on, and then DD puts on the ornaments from "her" boxes (the non-breakable ones), and DH puts on the breakable ones from "his" boxes. We always buy at least one new ornament every year that symbolizes something that happened that year, so having all the ornaments go up on the tree each year is a trip down memory lane, and a way to pass along family history to our DD.
