My favorite tradition has always been making Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve. We've been doing it since I was a kid. Now I get to watch my Mom and my Son rolling out the dough, picking a cookie cutter and delicately placing it in just the right spot. Just as she did with me many years ago. I used to be the official decorator but have happily stepped down and my Son taken my place. He has such a blast. Now I officially observe and document making sure my son and daughter will have these memories for years to come.

our favorite tradition was started by my grandmother. She would make all of the grandkids new advent candy calanders every year. I have carried out the tradtion by having my kids make their own calenders every year out of last years christmas cards and then I put the candy on them. We talk about family and thier great-grandmother while we make them.

Our family's favorite holiday tradition is hanging all our Santa ornaments on the tree. We have collected these ornaments from every trip we've taken over 15 years. We have one from NY that is dressed up like the statue of liberty, one from Hawaii on a sea turtle, & one from San Diego on a surfboard. We love & cherish all these memories.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is having my two boys put the ornaments on the tree of our Advent calendar. It's been going on since they were 2 and 5. They are now 14 and 17! :)

Great giveaways!
My favorite Christmas tradition is reading the Nativity Story to my 3 year old (and now newborn) and then setting up our manger scene in our dining room. My little girl loves to set out Baby Jesus and usually I find him in various places around the house where she has carried him with her.

We're in a new town this year for the holidays but I can already tell our family's newest tradition will be driving through the city park all decked out for the holidays. We've alredy been twice and it's only been up for one week. But who doesn't love a good light display!?!

There are soooo many things I love about December. I love doing a photo shoot with my daughter for our annual Christmas card. I think my favorite is taking my daughter to see Santa, though. I also love getting to play Santa and making every detail just perfect!

I have two favorites. One from my childhood and one with my kids now. The one from my childhood was on Christmas Eve my sister who was much older than me would drive me around trying to spot Santa in the sky and when we got home Santa had already left the presents at our house.
The one with my kids is that Santa always leaves 3 gifts just like the 3 Wise Men came bearing gifts for the Baby Jesus.
Merry Christmas

my favorite tradition is caling my son in "sick to school"- and heading out for a day together. We go to an "old fashioned" soda shop- (it's about 80 years old-has a counter with swivel stools, checkered floors and penny candy-) and then head off shopping for his list- and his only- kiosks and silly stuff that he LOVEs- and then we finish off at the photo booth. I hope when he is 30 and I am 60- we are still doing this! (I'll call him in sick to work!)
