i enjoy so many traditions this time of year but my favorite is loading everyone up in the car and driving around to see the beautiful lights and decorations on the houses. The kids faces light up and it warms my heart to see how bright with excitement they are. We sing to Christmas music and drink hot coco. So much fun!

my favorite tradition is buying the annual tree ornament... I believe it's bad luck not to have at least one new ornament on the tree a year... so I get a family ornament from the same company every year with the year on it... and I also started getting an ornament for my kiddo each year.

Loved reading people's favorite traditions. I love having the lights turned on on the tree whenever I am home. I like giving my kids Christmas pj's on Christmas Eve so they look cute and coordinated on Christmas morning. I like picking wrapping paper and having the packages wrapped and under the tree. Watching Christmas specials, seeing Christmas lights as we drive but most of all I like getting together with my extended family.

I grew up in a small Mississippi town where Santa rides around on the fire truck on Christmas Eve passing along good wishes over the microphone. If you bribe the firemen with hot chocolate, Santa will come at a time certain and even call out names over the speaker. The kids go crazy! It is a tradition that I talk about all year! This year is especially exciting as it will be the first for our baby girl. I can't wait to hear Santa call out her name!

My favorite tradition as of two years ago is Dazzle the Elf that shows up December 1st and watches over my kids until the 24th, reporting to Santa each night! What a difference that little Elf has made!!!

One of my favorite traditions is our advent calendar. It's made from ribbon, clothespins, and socks that that belong to my kids and myself. The socks range in size from newborn to adult in various shapes and colors. My kids get so excited over the tradition of it, seeing their baby socks compared to their bigger ones, and being able to alternate who gets to take down a sock each day and collect their goodie. Believe me...no one forgets when it's their turn. :o)

reading Christmas at the LIttle Zoo. It was my book as a child, I've read it to my two (now grown) sons, and I hope to eventually have a grandchild on my lap and continue the tradition. I always cry, but they are the good tears.

We have a little truck with 24 tiny drawers and each morning, I put a little "something" - a treat, handwritten note, silly gift in the drawer for the day. My daughter, Schuyler, gets up every morning and asks "Can I go see what's in the truck?" Her enthusiasm is magical! This year, I am including a picture of the goody in my December Daily!

My favorite tradition is picking out and giving my kids their Christmas pajamas. I know they probably aren't too excited but I hope they appreciate and remember it when they have kids of their own.
