365 : This Week In Photos & Words

JANUARY 26 : Hello sweet, happy girl. You are a lover of life. Easy-going. You are just a few days shy of your first birthday. Almost-walking without any assistance (you actually ended up walking on your own on the 27th). Silly. Those blue eyes.
I am excited to watch life unfold for you.

JANUARY 27 : Currently reading The Book Thief
and carrying around Food Rules
(loved Michael Pollan's other books). Up next: The Happiness Project
.

JANUARY 28 : Thursday lunch. Turkey, avocado, and some cheese. Pineapples. Most days I try not to eat lunch at my computer. I go to the table. I spread out the paper...and read the news that I have already heard on NPR in the early AM.

JANUARY 29 : This morning I took three pairs of sweat pants (his pant of choice on no-school days) out of Simon's drawers because they are way past the point of being way too short.
I think he thinks there will be a prize. I need to ask him what will happen when he is taller than me...
All these words & photos are going into my Project Life
album. I am uploading and writing daily (or almost) on Flickr. You can read more about my approach to this project here.

Just wait until he is taller than you! My first born is now 15 and 6 foot 4! I marvel every time I look at him. When he was a baby he was smaller than his own calf! My youngest is a year older than Simon and just waiting to catch up with his big brother. They just grow so fast...
Thank you for helping me learn to enjoy and celebrate each day with my boys!

I am currently reading "The Book Thief", too! Are you loving it? I am just at the part where there's a turning point with Max - if you're not there yet, that's all I'll say. Good stuff!

As the mother of a son who passed me in height last year, there really is a prize. Simon will be thrilled to be taller than you. He will love to have to reach down to hug you. He may even delight in resting his elbow and forearm on your shoulder while smiling down at you. The prize is the delight he'll feel. And if he passes his dad in height, watch out. He'll puff up three sizes!
