Sponsor Giveaways : Studio Calico, Memory Works, Lisa Leonard, & Designer Digitals

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.
The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.
At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

My word is BALANCE. I actually took action on this word before I even knew it was going to be my word. Several months ago, I signed my husband and I up for a marriage retreat called Getting Physical. The website description reads "Healthy people have healthy relationships. While that statement is true, the real question is “what does health look like and how do you achieve it in this fast-food, fast-paced world?” Total wellness (being emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically healthy) is attainable. This retreat is designed to train couples in each of the four key areas of wellness. In addition to slowing down to learn important relational principles, you will experience what it takes to make healthy lifestyle decisions in your eating, resting and exercising habits. Learn how teaming up for health can be more fun than you ever imagined." So we are taking a step toward BALANCE by finding total wellness for each of us as well as out marriage. I am looking forward to a year full of BALANCE.

My word is CHANGE!!
I need to change my attitude and the things that are detrimental to my life. One being my weight. It prevents me from doing SO many things that currently I feel uncomfortable doing. AFterall, I will be 40 this year in August, I don't think there is a better time for it... do you? :)

My word is GO. As simple as it sounds, it means to me to just do it. Go for a walk with my kids. Go to the gym. Go play a game. Stop waiting for the "right" time to do something and just go do it now!

My word was simplify as in not making my day to day activities more complicated than necessary. I have begun by taking care of things immediately instead of letting them pile up (housework, picking up after ourselves, etc.). I am also trying to come up with a plan that will help me scrapbook in a less complicated way in order to keep up with myself and our stories.

I decided to take your advice and just see if the word of the year would come to me - it did while going to sleep one night. It is DISCOVER. The first action I have to take is discovering why this is my word since it came to me out of the blue. Thinking that it means to just let life happen and learn from that as I'm a type A planner so maybe I am missing out on some discoveries while I'm always planning.

I love Lisa Leonard's necklaces, and the rest of the giveaways are as great as always. One way I plan to action my word for 2009 is to CHANGE the way I let other people's actions affect my life. I have no power how other people react, only how I react to my life and how I stay positive in the people I surround myself with.

I have really thought hard about my word. I have several runner ups. Patience, focus, joy. But I think that my biggest challenge is completing things; so I think the best word for me would be complete. :) and I am so going to get those overlays of yours! They are wonderful!!!

My word is document. Pretty simple really... my goal is to document my life in a blurb paperback. I am also going to work on my family's geneology album (volume 2)! Simple action is to sit down and journal when I can. But, giving myself a deadline is what will get it done! 2011!
