Sponsor Giveaways : Studio Calico, Memory Works, Lisa Leonard, & Designer Digitals

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.
The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.
At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

My word for the year is Pray. My action or goal this year is to become a prayer warrior again, like I used to be. I feel like I have lost touch with God, and I need HIM and WANT Him. So, in order for me to reconnect with God, I'm going to do like I did in the past, journal my prayers again.

Ali - My word is SERENITY. I'm not going to set myself up for failure by saying I will meditate every day to work toward serenity. But I will certainly use my 2009 word (gratitude) to help me to achieve the tranquility and peace within that I feel is the essence of Serenity. And journal each evening on just one thing that felt serene for me that day.

Since watching the video, 'Authenticity' has really stuck with me. Not very catchy, but just what I need! I think I may start with some painting and rearranging - maybe even discarding the dining room altogether...

Hello ~ Happy New Year.
My word for the year is STORY. My project for this year, is my daughters college graduation gift that involves both of our stories, a biography of her life coming into adulthood and a memoir of my lifes journey combined together. I am hoping by doing this we can see each see how parallel are lives really are.

My word is focus. I have a toddler and an infant...so it's hard to focus on one thing at a time. My goal is to write down projects that are partially done and finish them...focusing on only one.

My word for the year is ACTION. We just moved to a new house and I am faced with many, many projects - most of them are not that large, there are just so many that it seems very daunting. I just need to take action to complete them. I've already started yesterday and today...took down the christmas decor and hanging picutures on the wall. They are little accomplishments, but it feels great.

Last year was a challenging one for me at work. After lots of thought, I chose the word 'empower' to focus on doing what I can do with my own words and actions to make our workplace less physically and mentally stressful. After a very draining year, I have seen in just a few weeks how my words/actions/responses can ellicit a different response from co-workers. To support my word, my initial action is going to be an inaction, a pause, a breath before I react/respond to others. I want to give empower myself to choose the best response. I think I'll try the same with DH and kids too!

This year I want to be PRESENT. As I lined up to run a 5km New Year's Resolution run yesterday morning in minus 31 degree (celcius) windy weather with 1500 other frozen people, I wondered why on earth I was there. The horn blew and we took off and as I heard the crunching in the snow of those 3000 feet, I zeroed in on the fact that I was there and and I was committed to finish. I found that when my mind wandered, my strength and resolve faltered and I began to doubt. When I reminded myself to be present, I focused, found strenght and even pleasure in my current situation. I will be PRESENT this year and I am excited about what I will discover along the way. Thanks for the inspiration Ali!

my word is CREATE. In addition to creating art, I want to create meaningful experiences, new memories, new adventures, etc. I plan on journaling my intentions for this word and finding ways to incorporate it into my everyday life. I'd love to CREATE something new or meaningful every week.

My "action" is to keep an online journal and write a bit everyday...even when a minute or two is the only free time I have in a day. :)

This has been really hard for me to pick one word for 2010. My word for 2009, simplify, didn't go so well.
I've been throwing around the words, TODAY, StressLESS, and possibly revisiting Simplify. Maybe even CALM or PATIENCE.
With two kids I find it difficult in all areas. Mostly I want to focus on Today. The here and now. My time with my family and kids. Not focusing on yesterday or tomorrow just be in the moment. Also with two kids I need to be patient and learn to stay calm. I get angry a lot easier and need to try to not stress out and also make like a lot more simple. So a lot to think about and work on.
Those overlays are so tempting!
