Sponsor Giveaways : Studio Calico, Memory Works, Lisa Leonard, & Designer Digitals

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.
The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.
At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

One person will receive the Life Documented kit from the new Simple Stories collection by MemoryWorks.

I have been struggling to find my word for 2010. I needed something to sing to my soul. Although I thought I had chosen a word it wasn't resonating with me. Then I started reading Carolyn Myss' "Entering the Castle, an inner path to God and your soul. After reading a few pages I realized that my word is Grace, as Carolyn defines it, "Grace is word we give to the power of God that we recognize in our life". I have been searching for answers outside of myself. Today I saw as clear as the sun, what I need is not outside of me, what I need is simply "Grace". I will be inviting his Grace and reveling in it.

I love your word Story, Ali. So meaningful. My previous word was perseverance. I'm thinking 2010 will be produce. Both for the verb implying produce something every day and the noun for eating more produce.

My word for the year is STRETCH. I need to step outside what is comfortable and learn new things and meet new people and consider idea that are different to ones I currently hold. That said, I am reading a book by a somewhat controversial author for a new book group I've joined and will be taking new exercise classes at the gym. It's a start. Happy New Year!

My word is to BREATHE. I'm always in a hurry to get things done. I just want to stop and take everything in. Live in the moment instead of the future.

Well..since I picked courage for my word of the year(but it seems like my comment didn't get posted for some reason...probably operator error on my part!), my goal is to be positive, supportive, & brave in assisting my husband in his search for a new job!

I've been wanting to start exercising but always had a (somewhat valid) reason for not doing it. After taking a seasonal/retail job this year that required a lot of walking I'm determined to keep going now that the job is over. :)
Thanks, Ali!

My word this year is... "Word"
I'm a writer, and I often forget the smaller picture, the building blocks of what I do, because I'm looking bigger. At stories, at novels, at making a living and a life as a writer. This year, I want "word" to remind me to slow down, to choose carefully, to see the details. This way, word by word, I will build the year I am hoping for.
Also, the word "word" has a lot of power. Word. Word up. Word? Wurd!
:)

My word is PATIENCE...
with my young grandson as he questions everything, with my husband when he doesn't get things done around the house because he is traveling so much with his job, with my father as we adjust to his limitations due to Alzheimer's, and with myself as I try to do my best in these situations.
