Sponsor Giveaways : Studio Calico, Memory Works, Lisa Leonard, & Designer Digitals

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.
The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.
At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.

My word for the year is MOMENT. I am going to live for the moment and experience my children's lives, instead of rushing through my days.

Today I said "no" to locking myself upstairs to do work. Instead I'm choosing to visit family. No memories will be made from the work, but the possibilities are endless with my family!

Wow, I can't believe it's time for a new word again LOL!!! I love Ali's word but I hate to be a copycat and I am tossing a few around. IMPROVE is one that covers a broad scope----improve my decluttering, the house is a shambles, improve my efforts in gaining consistency, improve my efforts in not taking on too much. You get the idea. But story, I am so determined to tell the story. December Daily always fires me up for that. Let's see, PURGE is still relevant. Lots more to remove from our home. I can't decide if I need to be more specific or less.

My word is MAKE. Every day I plan to make something - whether it's another couple of rows on a friend's baby blanket, or a new page, or just some time to read to my kids and snuggle with my hubby.

My word is Simplify. My family has so much. I teach in a title 1 school where most of the children are not as lucky as mine when it comes to material things. So, this weekend I am sorting through clothes and taking in extra hats, gloves, coats etc that our social worker can take to families who could use it to keep their children warm this winter.

I hope you don't think I'm a copycat, but I was thinking about my word for a long time and STORY seems to be the best for me too. I would like to take more time this year to document my children's lives by scrapbooking. They are now 15 and almost 17! I feel like I already incorporate a lot of story in our lives through my quilts, but feel the need to do more right now.
I just learned about this project yesterday, but realized that my last few years have each had a word too: 2007 wellness, 2008 rejuvenate, 2009 learn. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, focused on getting well, then took time to learn to mountain bike and ski, then learned to hand spin. Thanks for this great idea!

My word is TRUST. I'm learning to trust myself, trust my motives and trust God in my life. I'm also trying to trust others and not be skeptical or question their motives for things--even if it results in me getting burned. When it comes to trusting myself, I'm trying to take time to be more introspective, so I'm setting aside a daily journaling time.
Happy New Year!

I borrowed your word, Story because it fit perfectly with what I want to do. I'm using the 2010 log your memory book to log daily. I also took Jen Hall's Daily album class and am trying my best (fingers crossed) to do this. I also keep a journal for each of my babies about everyday life and stories of them growing up. That's what I'm doing and attempting to do to keep my stories as treasures that our family will remember for years to come. April n.

My word is NOW. As in, "live in the now," before it's the past. I need to be aware daily that the things I do for my children that sometimes seem like mundane chores, are really fleeting gifts. One day I'll be missing cooking dinner for my kids, or doing their laundry, or picking up their toys. (Okay, the laundry -- not so much!)

my word is "cherish" and that is what I am trying to do with my three kids. since I work full time I feel that their baby time is going so fast. I will take time to enjoy them and am committed to taking time each day to do that. Just sit back, play, and enjoy the yumminess of them.

My word is PAUSE. I am going to pause for a moment (or longer) before I think, say or do anything. Tim Holtz had a great quote on his blog...Learn to pause or nothing worthwhile can catch up to you. Love it!

ORGANIZE is my word. We are building a new home so we must stay organized in that process. We also must organize our current home to sell. With a baby due in June, we must organize all things baby to prepare for this addition. I will have a home office in our new space which will need to be organized for increased productivity, including work and scrapbooking. I am also reorganizing my work life as a clinic that I work part time for is closing so I am organizing for this upcoming change in my life as well. Let's hope that 2010 brings lots of organization to my life!

Hello, I had a very hard time choosing one word, but I settled on ENJOY. One action I am taking right now is to simply put my word as a password for my computer at work. It may sound silly, but when I think how many times a day I need to enter it, I am sure to think about my word every day (well... almost!) Cheers.

I think my word will be "Captivate". Meaning capturing all the memories in every way possible: videos, journals, photos (of course!) and scrap booking. Lately all I've been doing is taking pictures but I want to take it to another level. Capturing all of our precious moments is really important to me so that's what I want to focus on :0)

My word is "peace". 2009 was such a chaotic year! My husband lost his job (& is still unemployed), we were victims of identity theft, lots of drama at work. It really was one thing after another. I always found myself praying for peace. I think it is the perfect word for me this year!
