My current favorite photo is actually a series of shots of each of us traveling in our car. My favorite photo is one my husband took while deployed to Iraq. It is a palm grove in siloheutte with the sun setting in the background. Although the photo is beautiful, it was the thought that he sent with it that always makes me pause: Find beauty wherever you are.

My favorite photo was taken last year, memorial weekend, at the cape. My husband and my 4 children were walking into the sunset at low tide. The entire scene was so serene and peaceful, just what we needed at that time as it was the weekend after we learned my husband was going to need to start on chemotherapy. All last summer it was the image that helped center me when times were tough. I love how photos can do that.

My favorite photo is one that has been my favorite for a long time. My then 4 1/2 year old daughter lying on the couch holding her then newborn sister. They are 13 and 9 now and every time I see that picture I am instantly taken back to that special time (it also serves as a great reminder when they forget that they love each other : ).

My favourite photo of the moment is one I took while downtown at the Vancouver 2010 olympics. It was joy, celebration and peaceful all rolled into one. It's a street scene of people high fiving strangers while police officers blocked the roads but were also posing for photos with olympic fans. What an image for all time. I wish every visit to the city was like this.

My current favorite picture is of my two children standing in the snow in our front yard. My son is standing behind my daughter with his head resting on top of hers and his arms hugged around her. Everything has blanket of white covering it. The kids are both smiling the biggest smiles. It has been a very long time since we have gotten 6 inches of snow in Mississippi and a first for my kids. They were so excited and looked so cute bundled up to play. It will definitely be one of the highlights of the year.

today's favorite photo is one that made me laugh out loud. we adopted a puppy when our daughter left for college this fall. I walked into the family room to sit in my morning chair but there was no room to sit. Aiden the four year old dog was asleep in the chair with the puppy, Summer seated right on top of him smiling away - she was for the moment the "top dog"

My current favorite photo is one I discovered recently from 1969, when my parents were first dating. My dad (who passed away almost 10 years ago) has a goatee and an impish grin in the picture, which reminds me that there was so much more to his life than just being my dad.
