MONDAY THOUGHTS
Monday was a bit of a crazy day for me as our babysitter was sick. Instead of a normal "working" Monday I had a "mama to a really cute & fun toddler" Monday and took care of some domestic things on my list.
I used my camera's self-timer in many of the photos above. Chris took the top photo and I took the rest with the timer. I also used
my iphone a bit when Anna and I were out and about.
I took some time last night to read back through my Monday journaling from 2008 and I definitely want to do some more in-depth, list-style documentation on an hour by hour or task by task basis. Today, I just went with it. For me that meant thinking way too much and not writing enough stuff down as it was happening or soon after - it's really hard to try to write at the end of the day and really capture what I would like to about the day.
Don't be discouraged if you feel like you didn't "do it right" yesterday. There is no right or wrong. There's always room to change and embrace and adapt and do things different today.

Sorry Ali, this is the Mother in me speaking here but, where is your seat belt? ;-) I then realized you must have been been parked or else how else would you have been able to take that picture. It made me laugh at myself though.
I'm struggling a bit taking pictures but I'm going to keep trying. I have a Cannon Power Shot and it is a little big, using the iPhone is a great idea, I'll have to try that.
Keep giving us inspiration, I love it!

I LOVE this project! I decided I would do this after I was given some quilting stuff that belonged to my grandmother. She paid $.05 for a big spool of thread. The problem is I don't know when she made her purchase. I would love to know more about her everyday life. I decided that I wouldn't let that happen to those who follow me. Thanks for doing this project!

Happy Tuesday to everyone doing "a week in the life..." I can't believe how many photos I took yesterday & how MUCH I wrote down...& as hard as I tried, I found myself remembering little bits of conversations from last night & adding them to my journaling notes...It's those little conversations that I wish I would write down normally...& Ali is SO right...if you don't write it down as it happens, then those little bits of our lives are lost...LOVE your photos Ali...I have NEVER used my self timer; looks like I should learn how! Have a great day :o)

You really don't have to "clean the house" first...for me, that is what it is all about...keeping it real :o) I will admit that I cringe when I see a pile of stuff in the background that really shouldn't be there...LOL...but that is just the way it is!

I am not using a tri-pod (at least yesterday). I just set the camera on top of a chair, desk, table, shelf, etc. and shoot from there.

Ali, I uploaded all my photos from yesterday, but I had 187!!! I think I was must have tried too hard or something. I did also keep a time log, as you did during another year. Today, will be a little different because I captured so much of the routine yesterday....and we're going out today. Can't wait to see how this all turns out.

Thanks for the update Ali! I can't believe your peonies are in bloom already! I've decided to play along, even though my week started with devastating news. I was going to put the project off until a more typical week, but I realize that this is real life. So, I'm going to document the good with the bad, and hopefully all will work out well.

I love peonies too -- mine aren't anywhere near blooming yet though!(in Rhode Island) I adore the photo of the pink peonies with Anna in pink next to them -- priceless!

Your photos look so good! I like the idea of putting the time next to them and maybe I will start that today!

I've never done a "week in the life" usually just a "day", but I'm gonna give it a try. I have taken my pictures, but not enough once I wrote down everything from yesterday. But I have recruited help from my girls to take pics during the day. I'm excited to see what all I can do in 7 days! Thanks for the inspiration.

My 1.5 year old also loves to look out the window. Birds are a wonder to us.

Hi, I am a newbie to your blog although I have been a fan for a long time. This "week in the life" is something I am going to pursue soon. Having just lost my father I keep looking at my photos of him and wish I had one more day "average" day with him. I'm thinking I will use some photos to go in an album with the eulogy I wrote.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a pile of scrappy stuff on the floor of my office! :) Love all your timer pics -- what a great way to capture moments. Thanks for all the inspiration!
