One More Day
Tags:Anna and I ended up spending an extra day in Charlotte after our flight to Denver was canceled (after sitting on the plane for close to an hour). Lucky for us my sister was able to come back to the airport and we happily got to spend another whole day with family.
The last few days have been great. Getting to watch these two babies (just a month apart) interact and experience the world was so cool. Getting to do it all with my sister was even better.
On Thursday we got to go to swimming lessons with Jessica & Gabrielle (they go to this great little warm water pool that is just for lessons) and then have a play date at a fun bookstore with a couple of her friends.
On Friday I spent some time at Inspired and Jessica took the girls to the park for a picnic, a ride in a wagon, and some playtime.
I think they really liked the wagon ride.
And then yesterday, after our flight was canceled, we headed back to Jessica's for a rest and then took off for dinner and some time at the park.
This time Anna decided she was ready to head into the water.
And she really loved it. Totally soaked. Totally happy.
We'll be attempting to make our way home again today.
What it really makes me wish for is to live closer to either of my siblings and their families.

I have the exact same situation! My sister and her family live outside Philly and we live in OH, eight hours away. Our daughters are four months apart and oh how I wish we could see them more often than twice a year. Yippee for whole day delays:)

I have three sisters. Three of us live within 100 miles of each other but our youngest sister is 1400 miles away in Louisiana so I feel your pain. I'm glad you got a 'bonus' day!

I hear you on that one. We live in Ottawa, my parents live in San Diego, and my brother is in Vancouver. We are all over the place, but never together! It makes me sad as time goes by. The good news is, by Christmas we will be living back in Vancouver too. So hopefully we will all be together by the New Year. Great photos Ali!

Its funny to me to see my spray park and a book store I frequent (and was in on Thursday and Friday!) in your picture!! I'm so used to seeing things in the backgrounds that I don't recognize...Glad you had some fun in the Queen City...you certainly were here on a gorgeous weekend!

May I ask the brand/name of those cute little dishes the girls are eating out of? What a perfect way to serve up toddler finger food. I love them. Thank you in advance.

thanks for sharing such cute pictures. I am lucky that my sisters live close by and the cousins go to same school even. I made them promise never to leave home unless we can all go together. So happy for you having a good time and an extra bonus day, love love the pictures they are both so cute. How is Simon doing while you were gone? Have a safe and easy trip back home.

What a great time with your sister! I agree it would be nice to live closer to my siblings too! Mine are a full day's plane ride away and we don't get to see them very often. Thank goodness for Facebook! :-) Safe travels to you and Anna!

These flight cancelations are now so common. Rather than fight them we refer to the extra days as bonus days. Looks like you & Anna had a great bonus day!
