4x8 MiniBook : I Love You Today Because (Includes Free Download + Video Tutorial)

Yesterday I introduced you to a new minibook I had in progress. Here's a look at the finished project and a quick video tutorial on working with these mini line stack word art pieces (supplies are listed at the bottom of the post):

Inside cover :

Throughout this minibook I used some of my mini line stack products from Designer Digitals.

Here's a short video that will show you how to place a variety of .png files on one canvas for easy printing. Click through to Vimeo to view larger :

The embellishments I used next to each printed element were from a collection of miscellaneous products that had lost their original packaging. This is a great project for giving products like that a home.

For the page opposite each photo I created a series of journaling strips that talk about each person.

Here's a look at the page when it was first printed:

I completed each sentence and then used my trimmer to cut out strips.

Love any chance I can get to incorporate some of his writing. This one I
scanned in and printed on the same cream cardstock I used for the word
art.

I don't think I've ever left a comment telling you, Ali, that your mini books changed me. Through them I've told more stories and documented more moments in those 3 years than I have in all of my 46 years.
I would much rather do a mini book than a layout. It may sound odd, but a mini is less intimidating to me. And I think because of the size of the page and sense of accomplishment. And knowing that little hands will be holding the mini, big hands will be reading the mini and telling the stories, smiles from everyone and tears of joy from others are just around the corner.
You are fulfilling your OLW so well. But we all knew you would.

This is so sweet. I love all the overlays, they make it feel extra special and the last patterned paper is gorgeous! What a great way to highlight large pieces of patterned paper/overlays for their own sake.

    Ali -
Cute shoes!! (last picture) Where did you get them? When we traveled to Europe, we could always spot Americans because they all wore tennis shoes, baseball caps and sweatshirts. :-)
Love the mini - rethinking my dislike of yellow...

    Hi Ali,
    This is lovely.
This is likely an elementary question, but could you tell us how you hole punch the photos? How do you ensure that the holes line up with the rings? Do you have your own little mini 3 hole punch?
    thanks,
    Sheri

Hi Sheri - the chipboard pages that come with the album have holes in place. I adhere one photo (or piece of pattern paper) and punch the holes with a crop-a-dile tool. Then I adhere the paper/photo to the other side and punch again.
