That is awesome, Ali. You GO, girl!
I've run 2 half marathons & have visions of doing a tri one of these days. I believe you may have inspired me... ;-)
congratulations ali. i am so impressed. so happy for your accomplishment and big finish. smile and be proud and now pound some ice cream. so thrilled for you. xo.
SO VERY COOL!!! I ran my first 5k last year and I remember that fantastic feeling--it feels like you could conquer the world!!! Congratulations!!! What an accomplishment!
Congratulations! What a fantastic day! I started running about a year and a half ago, and after talking to some women I run with, I've been thinking of doing a tri next year. Now that I've read this post, I totally want to do it. I'm going right now to the Danskin tri website to see what's in my area for 2011.
Wow! Congratulations! Brought tears to my eyes just reading this and amazed at how totally happy you were just to be participating - not scared or nervous or anything but happy!
wow. so proud of you...congratulations Ali!! I love that you captured the moment and it's so clear in the pics how very happy and proud you were in the moment. Lovely.
Way to go!!!!
I did my first ever half-marathon at the beginning of summer. I was so proud that I actually accomplished something I set out to do! I think I'll have to try another one (and see if I get better timing). I've had others recommend I try a triathlon but I've been nervous about giving that a try. :)
This is so impressive! Also, something I would never in a million years do, but I'm so amazed by anyone that attempts such a thing and especially with such excitement! Nice work!
Congrats Ali...there is nothing - absolutely nothing - like stepping over the finish line of a triathlon for the first time. You are truly an inspiration.
ali,
your story has inspired me to give this ambitious athletic adventure a try. i'm in the midst of getting my body fit and healthy with the help of a 22-month medical weight loss program. i hope at the end of the program to complete the Chicago Triathlon! thank you for planting the seed... i think i've been bitten by the "athlete bug" for the first time in my adult life.
sincerely,
monica
Oh my goodness, congratulations! This is so, so inspiring. I've just run my first two 5k's this past summer, with dreams of doing a triathlon some day (hopefully sooner rather than later!). Thank you for this! I guess seeing someone else do this without regard to their time/pace is just what I needed to start on my own journey.
