GIVEAWAY :Three people will receive a spot in willette's new fun, laid-back online class Finding Your Joy - Capturing Your Life Through Photos.
When you really look at all the photos you have of your family, how many photos are there of YOU? I discovered after printing my family photos for the year, that I was only in a handful of photos out of over 1000 photos. Finding YOUR joy is my personal quest to better document my own life (and my quest to help you do the same). I would hate for my children to see all of our family photos and wonder where I was (when in actuality I was there…I was just behind the camera). This three week online e-journey will help you explore how to capture your own life in photos and how to escape from always being behind the camera.
Class begins September 7, 2010, and the lessons are emailed once a week and are presented on a private class forum website. Along with weekly lessons are free template downloads, video tutorials and photoshop and photoshop elements video tutorials. The class is a do-it-at-your-own-pace class….you can download the materials and do them at a time convenient to you. Along with the forum is an online photo gallery to share your assignments if you choose (but sharing is not a requirement).The class fee is $45. To register visit here. Recommended class materials include: a camera (any kind), a photo editing program such as photoshop or photoshop elements, a tripod (recommended but not required), and a desire to capture yourself and your life with your camera. For those who sign up, welcome packets will be emailed by September 1, 2010 with pre-homework.

I need a class like this. I'm doing POTD and am in about 6 pictures so far this year, and these are mostly posed, taken in front of a mirror, or with the timer on my camera. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

This give away is so timely... Just this weekend my husband and I took the kids to the beach (freezing cold here in the sthn hemisphere, but great for beach soccer with two active boys!), as I was snapping away I realised that I am never in the photos (except for the odd finger or leg, and that is more bad photo-taking than posing!). I thought about asking my husband to take over the camera, but that felt contrived and forced, not in the spirit of spontenaity that the outing had. I also thought about lifes incidentals that are often missed through lack of documentation (day to day things that make us who we are as a family). Learning how to do this would be great as I want my children when they become adults to see how much we treasured them and what we did together rather than just rely on their hearts and memories (equally important, but a 'complete' picture would be such a great legacy for them)

This sounds like a great class to take. I'm in almost none of our photos because I'm usually the one taking the pictures. I'd love to be able to get good photos of myself. Great give-away.
