On The Road
Tags:Sitting here in the Philly airport with Tricia working on my scrapbook on the road while waiting for our flight to Athens, Greece and then on to Mykonos for a Cocoa Daisy Destinations event.
Here's a bit of documentation from today:
WAKING : Up at 3:30am (day #2 at that time) to catch a shuttle to the airport for our 7am flight to Philly
READING : The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (finally finishing it - so interesting) and various magazines
WEARING : black leggings, black ballet flats, gray shirt-dress, dark gray wrap
CAPTURING : Playing with a Fujifilm Instax MINIcamera that Elsie posted about last week
WATCHING : Rented Man On A Wire via iTunes to watch on the plane or sometime this next week
CALLING : Chris to tell him I love him and to find out what settings I should change on my phone for international calling
REMEMBERING : How much I used to fear flying and feeling thankful that things have changed
Excited to be heading to a country I've never visited. Excited to be seeing old friends and making new ones. Excited to be teaching a new Scrapbook On The Road class.
Ready, set, go.

Finished the immortal life of Henrietta Lacks two weeks ago, got Something borrowed from Emily Giffin and could not put it down (such a well written and round tale) and today started Something blue also by Giffin.
So exciting to fly to Mikonos, can't wait to hear from you about this wonderful event!

That sounds so wonderful Ali. I find it amazing that you can scrapbook at the airport! Airports make me nuts, I just have to sit down and read a book or people watch to keep my sanity. Have a great trip.

Ali - I'm thinking how cool it is that you can be sharing all of this via your computer while on the road. Aaaah - technology! Amazing. Glad to hear your updates. Be safe.

I Loved The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks!! I just finished it a few weeks ago and couldn't put the book down! SO many issues to think about. I felt for the Lacks family!
Have a fun trip! Wish I was there soaking up all of that creativity! I dream of traveling the world! Maybe someday ;)

Oh, Ali, if you ever have a chance I would love it if you could share how you conquered your fear of flying. I have ALWAYS wondered how you are able to fly so much, and with your children, because I'm such a fearful flyer. Honestly, ever single post that you've ever written from/at/to an airport, the first thing that usually goes through my head is, "Hhhhmmmm, I wonder if she's ever afraid to fly." Glad to know that either way, you're not afraid anymore.
Safea and wonderful travels to you!!!
