I loved buying new school shoes. Loved the smell - but it was torture to have to wait until school started to wear them.
I also loved grade school, when we had a piano in the class and our teacher played songs and we sang everyday!!!
"This Land is Your Land..........."

My favorite memory is of elementary school. I just love that time of life. My first grade teacher.. she's great. I still talk to her once a year at Christmas :)The next great memories I have are of College. I didn't care for high school much.

I love the idea of simple stories and this school series is so adorable. With 2 grandchildren and one on the way I plan to have lots of school pix to scrap and this would just make my life so much easier!

I had some wonderful elementary teachers. Had a great one in grade 4 and then part way through grade 6 we got her again! She was tough (if you were bad, which I wasn't), but kind.

One thing I really loved about school was my Grade 6 teacher. She encouraged us to embrace the arts, even going so far as to organize and put on a drama production of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" just because we really liked the book and said we wanted to do it.

What was not to love? I was one of those kids that loved school, always. If I had to narrow it down, I'd say all the new school supplies the beginning of the year, the fresh clean sheets of notebook paper, sharp new pencils, maybe a new backpack, new "school shoes." All the tidings of a fresh start, a new beginning and all the wonderful things I would learn that year!

I loved the brand new school supplies - and I still love going into office supply stores. Now it's the organizational goodies that tempt me although those shining new No. 2 pencils still look tantalizing.

I loved new school supplies...but what I loved even better then that was spending the time with my mom picking out the new supplies. As I can no longer do that, I now do it with my kiddos, giving them each a day to pick out their own supplies with mom, alone.:)
