I loved school... loved the seemingly overnight transformation of summer's end into the bright, crisp fall days of school. September has always been my favorite month b/c school starts - new pencils, new crayons, new composition books! And, best of all? New school clothes and shoes! :) Thanks for the chance to win... love your blog!

I loved learning via reading. I don't remember not being able to read and in first grade I won a prize for having read the most books in the class. That was a really great feeling.

I love the honesty of the a 3½ year old on their 1st day of school.
Me ”How was your 1st day and did you learn anything today?”
My daughter replies” My teacher showed the class how to cough in our sleeve but I really didn’t have to cough”
Me “oh..can you show me”
My daughter replies “sure” and proceeds to cough in her sleeve she then turns to me and says “ Mrs Smith never showed us what we are suppose to do when we have to fart”
I could not stop laughing and she asked “why are you laughing mommy she didn’t show us I’m telling the truth really”

One of my favorite things about school was getting to open and use new school supplies each year. I loved stuffing my side pockets with crayons, pencils, pocket folders and more!!!

I'm still in school, finishing my Bachelors in Psychology. I've always loved the beginning of the school year best. The feeling of expectation and possibility during that time is never the same as the rest of the year :)

In my early childhood school years, I loved picking out a new lunch box. And of course choosing my outfit for the first day of school. Once we got to school, I loved finding out who my teacher would be that year and which friends were in my class. Oh the memories...

Loved? How about still love! I am an elementary teacher, and the "getting ready" portion is just as much fun for teachers as it is for kids. I get all giddy walking into Staples in August and imagine all the fun projects and activities I get to do with my students this year!
