Today I'm joining a protest of perfection with a giveaway of my friend Dr. Brené Brown's new book The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are
I'm going to keep this simple: this book could change your life. You'll laugh, probably cry, learn a bunch about shame, resilience, kindness, letting go, compassion, mindfulness, and come out of the experience with ammunition for the fight against perfectionism.
Perfection is so over-rated. Imperfect is beautiful and real.

Well, what is the big deal about being perfect? Everyone makes mistakes. If we are lucky our mistakes don't hurt other people but sometimes we are not lucky.

The book sounds so wonderful. I think I should read this one. While cleaning today (I am doing a room a day from top to bottom) and feeling so tired I could hear myself replaying the words that my mom told me a while ago... "why are you such a perfectionist?" yep, I should read this one. :)
