December Daily 2010 | Keeping Your Eyes Open
Tags:I've been keeping my eyes open for little bits of this and that which can possibly be added to my album in December.
In the image above I've got a coffee cup cover from Starbucks (not sure the wording on there could be any more perfect) and the bottom tags are from an early gift I receive from a friend from West Elm. Not sure I'll use them but they sure look cool. I've got a little bag of these goodies on my desk just waiting to be used.
Here's a few other things on my list to share with you today:
There's so much visual inspiration out there this time of year. The catalogs are even more inspiring than usual - I've been pulling out pages to put in my holiday inspiration binder (great posts here from Molly and Marta on setting up your own).
Working on a tutorial post for working with the 6x8 digital layered templates - needing to pick up some ink today for my printer to get some samples ready to show. Hope to have that up this weekend or early next week.
A thought I shared on Facebook + Twitter this morning: Don't stress if you album feels "disjointed" right now. Your own photos and words will tie it all together.
I absolutely loved seeing all the links to your foundation albums! Thank you for sharing your creations. I can't wait to see those books filled with the images and stories of December.
There's definitely still time to put your own December Daily album together. Go here for more information.

I haven't saved one of those sleeves YET but as soon as the calendar says it's Dec 1st and I feel like I can officially get an eggnog latte (I'm kinda strange that way!) - the sleeve will be going into the album!!
I'm almost ready to post my foundation album. In fact, as soon as the baby goes down for a nap and I can spread the pages out all over the living room floor I will start taking pictures! Thanks for your comment about not worrying if it feels disjointed. I was looking at it last night thinking I was doing something wrong because it felt like it wasn't coming together quite how I'd pictured it. But I will persevere!! Thanks again Ali!

That's hysterical- I don't even go to Starbuck's normally, but yesterday I went specifically to pick up some of those covers (and a salted caramel hot chocolate) and was so excited to see the saying. I picked up two with only a few strange glances from the other customers. Is it weird to go places specifically for Dec Daily ephemera??? :) Today we made some fake snow so I kept the packaging for that too...At this rate this album's going to be FULL. hee hee.

So funny. I did the same thing after work. I never go to Starbucks.

Oh Ali, yesterday I was so happy to drink Starbucks gingerbread latte again after waiting almost a year! And I noticed their motto too. I love the saying and I definitely will use it in my December Daily cause I'm a big fan of Starbucks. Thank you for sharing inspiration!

My husband made a Starbucks run from work the other day for me just to get my coffee cup sleeve and pastery bags to add to my Dec. Daily. He has been on the lookout for unique items to add to my album and believe me when I tell you I was totally floored and I think maybe just maybe he listens when I talk about scrapbooking!

Great post. I like the idea of putting together a holiday inspiration binder. I have a ton of magazines and catalogs that I just can't seem to part with for some reason or another. Never thought to tear the pages out and put them in a binder.

Thanks for these ideas Ali. I've seen those starbucks wrapers even though I don't drink coffee will stop in for something just to get one, they are perfect for this album. I enjoyed reading everyone's blogs also. I keep loooking at my album everyday and am so excited to fill it up. Have a great weekend with your family.
Also could you do a post after December so we can all link our finished albums to look at. Thanks for all you do.

I am another person who as been saving the cup covers. I am almost done with a purely paper mini book, inspired by one that Noell from Paperclipping did (my first completely paper project, I have been a digi girl up to now)! I, too, thought that the tag line on the cup cover was something that I could not pass up, almost as if made for scrapbookers/storytellers! Thanks for all of the inspiration, Ali!

Ali, you must go back to Starbucks and buy something or ask for a bag. Their handled bags have the same story saying but larger than on the coffee sleeve. When I saw this yesterday I immediately thought of you.

Wow -- another "communal" experience - I love this blog Ali!! Two days ago, I visited Starbucks and fell in love with the cozy - I'm a TAO Earl Grey visitor :) ....and I told my friend Danna about you and this blog as if I knew you. I told her about the "one word" and decided right there on the spot that my little word for 2011 would be "share." I even thought about commenting on this but figured it would seem weird on an unrelated post....it's funny how scrapbookers bond :)

I used last year's cup cover in my DD album and loved it! Hadn't thought to go look for one yet this year -- not a regular Starbuck's visitor -- but I'll be going tomorrow. Will have to buy something so I can get the bag as well!
