I always look forward to Christmas Eve dinner with my whole family. Nothing fancy, just dinner at a local Chinese place and then dessert at someones home. Afterward my brother's family spends the night and my kids get to wakeup Christmas morning with their cousins. Its the best way to cap the season off.

I look forward to being with my family. The last couple of holiday seasons have been tough since the loss of my parents, so we're hoping everyone will perk up this year & enjoy one another.

Looking forward to spending time with my mom. Over the past year she has shown progressive signs of dementia. It is hard to watch, but it also makes the time together more cherished.

I am looking forward to our advent wreath tradition. We've done it since before we had kids. Now it is really cool to hear them say that the time we spend reading, singing and lighting a candle together once a week during advent is their favorite part of the holiday-even though they are now teens:)

I love the fun and food of the holidays. But mostly, I love that everyone you meet seems to have a completely different attitude during the holiday season. It's as if the spirit of Christmas really does take hold of people and shine through, even if only for a little while.

I'm looking forward to all of our traditions especially since this is our oldest daughter's senior year in high school (great...here comes that HUGE lump in my throat again just thinking about it) and my husband and I have already talked about how things will be different after this year.
