More Layouts Incorporating Hand and Machine Stitching
Tags:
The layout above is available at Designer Digitals as a digital layered template.
As I was working on that layout last week with the hand-stitching I remembered that I had done an article for Creating Keepsakes a couple years ago on stitching (October 2009) both by hand and by machine.
Just looking back through these pages makes me want to scrapbook. Big time.
Here's a look at those layouts (click any image below to view larger):
Create a quilted home for embellishments by stitching fabric together:

Hand stitch embellishments with floss:

Machine stitch random lines:

Machine stitch a grid:

Machine stitch elements in a line:

Tie down emebellishments with floss:

Stitch lines for journaling:

Hand stitch words using floss and machine stitch shapes:

These have all been added to my portfolio.

This is perfect for me today because I just sewed on my first layout 2 days ago. I love these pages you've done and have most of them in my Ali binder. So fun to see the different ways you stitch on your layouts. I'm hoping to do more of those too. Still learning and trying not to get frustrated when the machine doesn't work with me. Thank you for putting these all in your portfolio, will come in handy.
You can check out my first sewing page on my blog at http://everydaymemorieswithprojectlife.blogspot.com
My son Sam was helping me too,he loves it. Thanks

How did you make these zick zack hearts on the fourth layouts?

would love to know which one. have never seen any...

Marissa,
I'm positive it's the scalloped heart punch by Marvy Uchida. I know Scrapbook.com has them, also, I've seen them in Michaels. Hope this helps.

Hey Ali -- LOVE, LOVE the layouts. You are such an inspiration.
Question fr you -- how old/big was Anna before you put her in the Bjorn babysitter? Samuel is only two weeks old so I'm thinking its a bit early to sit him in it.
Thanks,
Autumn
