Sponsor Giveaways | Green Frog Studio, Up & Running, Claudine Hellmuth for Big Picture Classes

GIVEAWAY | Two people will each receive a spot in the Up & Running Summer 5K Beginners Course, which starts on 13 June.

Up & Running provides unique online running classes for women. If you've always thought running was reserved for sporty types with bouncing ponytails, we're here to help you discover that running is for everyone. Our 5K Beginners Course is not the usual boring "walk 5 mins, run 5 minutes" program. We offer expert coaching from renowned coach Julia Jones, unlimited support from our community forums, and a mind and body approach that has been tried and tested with thousands of women around the world. Whether you've dabbled in running before or completely new to exercise, we'll not only help you start running safely, we'll get your mind in the right place too.

"Up & Running really has been the best thing I have done for myself in years, and not just for the running. My confidence and happiness in my own skin has increased so much and I love what my body can DO, rather than obsessing about what it looks like."
- Philippa, UK, Spring 5K course

My mom taught me the importance of being polite, even to people you don't like. She called it being nice-nice.
    Great prizes today! Thank you,

I will never ever be a runner, but I would just about FAINT if I won that spot in Claudine Hellmuth's class!!! *crossing fingers*

My mom told me that if I can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. It keeps my mouth shut a lot, but she was right.

Wow, my Mom is my hero, so she has taught me a lot!!! But, the number one thing is FAITH. She didn't send me to church, she took me. She didn't tell me to read the Bible, she read it to me, and to herself in front of me. She didn't tell me to "say my prayers", she prayed with me and mostly for me! Such an example of a faithful woman.

I got it in my head to run a 5K this year, and I have NEVER been a runner. I was THAT girl in school. The one who was the last in on a run. So, I don't know why lately I seem to keep seeing things pointing me to running a 5K. Must be my time for sure.

My mom taught me to listen to your instincts. We have that voice that usually steers us right, so pay attention to it.

The life lesson my Mom taught me is that you do what you have to do. There's no giving up. Somehow you just have to make it happen.

Motherly wisdom? Hmmm.... Honestly? I think what I learnt from my mother, for various reasons, was independence.

My mother's best life lesson was telling me to invest in my education because it was my ticket to life and the one thing no one could ever take from me.

My mom taught me that buying the best quality items (usually the most expensive, but not always) and taking care of your stuff will save you money in the long run. And use what you have until it's used up!

My mom is an amazing cook and sewed a lot of clothes for me when I was young and knit too - I learned so much about all of those skills, which I now love to do, just by watching her create things!

As I was leaving my parent's house you've with my husband my mom said, "Never start a project with your husband on an empty stomach. It will only leed to a fight." She was right. We have followed her advice for 28 years & when we didn't we fought.
