Week In The Life 2011 | Sunday Words + Photos

I love Sundays.
Sundays are for hanging out.
Sundays are for taking a little extra time over that hot cup of coffee.
Sundays are for stocking up.
Sundays are for organizing.
Sundays are for giving thanks.
Sundays are for choose-your-own-lunches.
This Sunday included documentation.
Sundays are for quiet times in the afternoon for reading or working in a work book or maybe taking a nap.
Sundays are for long bike rides.
Sundays are for swimming.
Sundays are for taking care of things.
Sundays are for family.
As Sunday night comes to a close around here I'm feeling calm.I'm ready to be released from the constant thinking about documentation and get back into my regular flow of photos and words.
Obviously, I love this project but by the end I'm ready to wrap it up.
I'm thankful for this project. There are so many things that are the same and so many things that are so very different from year to year. Reflecting on that and seeing the passage of time is always something I enjoy and look forward to from year to year.
I hope you had fun this past week. I hope you didn't make it too complicated. I hope you learned something about yourself. I hope you saw something special and found something to celebrate in your everyday.

NEXT STEPS
I'm looking forward to this week of bringing it all together.
The process of gathering your content is one thing. You're busy living and busy trying to remember to use your camera and get it all written down.
The process of actually creating something with all those photos and words is where a lot of the magic happens. I always learn a few more things about myself as I go back through the photos and read back to myself the things I wrote down and see them all together in one place. There's something amazing about the compilation of those seven days - no matter how they went for you or your family. I so look forward to beginning this next phase of Week In The Life.
I'll be back in a couple days with more information about my process for taking the collected content and putting it all together in an album, including a video tutorial for working with the layered templates. And in case you missed it, here's my basic design plan & supplies for 2011.
If you're in a hurry or wanting more right now, check out my detailed posts from last year:
Again, thank you for embarking on this journey with me.

This has been a fun week. Finding it hard not to take photos of life moments like my nook, which broke after dropping it! Here is my Sunday post:

I'm in the middle of assembling my week since I started a bit early and you're right - you learn so MUCH from this whole process. I see stories I missed a photo for (but there are so many to tell, it's not a big deal). I see some things that only need one word to tell, and others that need many. I see how intensely blessed I am.

I enjoyed this week but I am looking forward to not worrying about having the camera around all the time.

Hi Ali!
This week has been fun and amazingly insane! Closed on new house so loads of photos the beginning of the week and so busy on the weekend...not so many but it's OK !
Thanks for the project ! I don't think I would have taken the time to do as much daily life documentation this week as usual had I not had this to spur me on. I even have photos of the girls documenting their day at camp this week - awesome!
Can't wait to put it all together this week...my theme for this week is...you guessed it "Home" and I'm using my "Modern Homemaker" stash of papers and goodies along with the digi-templates.
Going to be a nice break from packing up !

I loved giving this project another go! I loved watching and learning how you go about it. I was not as deliberate and it is ok with me.
Thanks Ali!
I'm looking forward to putting together what I have :)

Hi Ali!
This time through, I decided to go it a little differently than I had in the past. My focus was on the words (I'm always taking photographs and wanted to try something a bit different). I do have photos, but not so many. It's been an interesting switch in perspective and I'm not sure yet what I think about it. It always takes me awhile to consider and process these things.
One thing I know for sure, this project (no matter how it's done) always makes me far more mindful of my everyday life. This is such a gift and I'm so grateful for it.
While I'm on the topic of gratitude... I'm so grateful for you, your guidance and friendship, your courage to share, and you sense of adventure and fun. You rock it, girlfriend and I can't wait to get together again for another Walkabout (which I'll be processing and releasing in mid-sept). Wow, I'm writing a lot -- maybe should have gone with an email. Ah, well, it's here.
Happy summer, my friend and hi to your mom! =)
Loads of love,
Liz
