For Christmas food, I always think about ham, maybe because we only eat it during the Christmas season. We love having that on Christmas Eve and then all the days that follow (leftover ham always makes the best sandwiches!).

I love to eat cookies and appetizers. Although most of the holiday treats are rather delicious!

A Christmas favorite are German lebkuchen cookies! Everything about those cookies reminds me of my mother.

Mexican Wedding cookies, Russian Tea cookies, Swedish Nut balls or as they are called at our house, Choke Balls.

My favorite thing to eat is sugar cookies--the christmas shaped, heavily frosted, homemade ones. Yum!

We have an annual tradition of ornament painting and now my daughter makes the most fantastic chocolate and crushed peppermint covered pretzels that have become THE family favorite!!!

My favorite is German Chocolate cake. My Dad used to make it every year and I tried once but it turned out like a lump of stone! Thankfully, my sister has carried on the tradition. I just stick making with the Coconut cake for my Mom.

How do you pick just one? I love the first glass of eggnog every year, it's one of those things that truly is a holiday only treat. I know you don't eat it but I look forward to it every year.
