Living in New Mexico, the traditional (or at least the typical) Christmas Eve meal is Posole (a mexican soup) and Tamales or Quesadillas. We've kinda adopted this tradition! SOOOOO yummy!

My favorite treat is called Kringla. In my family we shape it like a soft pretzel, but about 1/2 the size. It is a sweet, dense, and very sticky dough that is baked in the oven after it is shaped. This has been one of my favorites since I was a toddler and could carry one around in my fist.

My favorite holiday dish is my "Step Ahead Sweet Potatoes" recipe by Pampered Chef. It has sweet potatoes, green apples, cinnamon, cranberries, and pecans. I usually add marshmallows, too! I make it the day before, then pop it in the oven for 30 minutes at mealtime to warm it through. It's YUM-O!

It's hard to narrow it down, but if I had to I would say - - Temo's chocolate. It is a local family owned store that makes the most wonderful chocolate and molds. You can get a 8" Christmas tree mold and inside are all sorts of wrapped chocolates in various flavors. Mmmmm. Amazingly rich and delicious.
The family is related to Melina Kanakaredes who stars in CSI New York.
