IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.
Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

I love decorating the tree and taking an evening to drive around and see all the lights. This year has been even more fun since our two year old daughter is old enough to enjoy the season with us!

My favorite bit has to be when we put the presents under the tree, the children are in bed of course but the parents have to sneak back to put each other's gifts unnoticed... Love the stamps!

These are great! Our favorite tradition is cookie making and decorating, which the kids love. Have done this since my oldest (now 21!) was a wee one, so I love continuing it with the younger boys too (youngest is 7!)

Thanks for a chance to win. My favourite holiday tradition is listening to Carols at Kings College on Christmas Eve with a glass of mulled wine, while I get on with stuff in the kitchen.

Christmas lights are my favorite tradition. It's so nice to come around the corner on the way home from work and see all the lights. So nice when it gets dark at 5 pm!

We put numbers on all the gifts under the tree. Then we draw one number at a time and the lucky person gets to open that gift and then draw the next number. It makes it really fun because you never know what gift will be opened next!

Baking with my two cousins (who are 18 & 13). I love that I haven't lost my "cool" factor with them and that they look forward to our holiday baking just as much as I do! :)
