Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

love the layout Ali, great way to use a busy background stamp! Stocking gifts have turn into our family's tradition. our family has grown so instead of trying to buy gifts for everyone we do stockings...they are large (3ft.) stockings and it's a blast to find fun, creative and inexpensive doo-dahs.

so many to chose from...
making gingerbread cookies for our tree in the dining room... kids young & old eat from it during the holiday!
Christmas PJ's... we are still doing this and my oldest is 33!
Making pumpkin cream cheese pies for all our friends & family who don't physically sit at our table for Christmas dinner!
gifting my shortbreads... I have done this since I was 20 years old... that's 35 years!

I love hanging up stockings. As a child we stretched a broom between two chairs when we didn't have a fireplace. In later years, we just arranged stockings on the couch or at "their" chair.

I love having dinner for my whole family here at my house on Christmas Eve. I usually make a ham and a turkey and all the extras. Our street has a tradition of putting out luminaries in front of all the houses right at the street. We're at the bottom of a hill so standing in front of our house after dinner it looks like a landing strip for Santa. I love how foggy it is here this time of year - all the luminaries disappear into the fog at the top of the hill. Breathtaking!

My favorite holiday tradition is tomorrow. A group of four of my friends and me gather at one house and bake cookies ALL DAY. We each pick a recipe and we make at least six dozen of each and then split them up at the end of the day. Then we have the majority of our holiday baking complete and we get to spend all day together.

My favorite holiday tradition is what we call Santa Day. My father (who really looks like Santa) comes dressed as Santa, and we invite family and friends to come share their Christmas wishes with Santa. Always a great day for kids and adults.

It's very difficult to narrow it down to my favorite tradition. But I think one thing I enjoy so much every year is when our entire family gets in on decorating our Christmas cookies. I bake about a million shaped butter cookies ahead of time, then make the icing and pull out every sprinkle and sugary topping we have. We gather round the table and start it! When we are done, we have tons of yummy works of art, and we've enjoyed a few pleasant hours together.
