IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.
Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

Mine is putting on some Christmassy music whilst decorating the tree and hearing the childrens' delight at finding their favourite decorations again in the box. I let them choose wherever they like to hang them on the tree and then I do it all again once they've gone to bed!

My favorite holiday tradition is adopting a family in need and giving to those less fortunate during this Christmas season. That is the reason for the season. Merry Christmas!

Blog Hop? Excellent! My favorite holiday tradition, without a doubt, is that the night we decorate our Christmas Tree we pull out the sleeping bags, put in It's a Wonderful Life and have a family slumber party under the glow of the tree lights.

As I'm Jewish, my favorite holiday tradition is lighting up the Menorah, while all the family is together, singing Hanukkah songs. I miss it so much, now that it's just my husband and I, but in time we will fill up this image with our family :)

My fav. holiday tradition would have to be: baking cookies, well OK, eating them really--LOL!!
I like your layout--it's sweet and esp. how you showed us step-by-step. Even projects that seem straight-forward to the creator are sometimes not on a computer screen. TFS and the chance to win such fantastic prizes!!

I love this layout Ali! What I love most is that you regularly do these fabulous layouts of your kids talking about what they are doing right now, or what you love about them right now (like this one). Your kids are so lucky!! Thank you for sharing this part of you.

LOVE your layout and those stamps! Favorite holiday tradition is cooking with my sons (we're all chefs) and letting the non-chefs clean up! Everyone pitches in! The dogs hang around waiting for food to fall on the floor!

My favorite tradition is while decorating the tree we pull out the ornaments one by one and tell the story behind each of them. My kids huff and roll their eyes because it takes longer, but I know someday they will have fond memories. hee hee

my favorite tradition, which may be pretty common in most families, is to open the christmas presents on christmas eve, instead of waiting til' christmas day. the anticipation is always a killer, and not just so i can open my own presents, but so i can see other people open theirs. i love giving gifts. your layout and design is awesome by the way!!!
