IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.
Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

We give all our grandkids new pajamas and they get to open them up Christmas Eve. They wear them to be so when they wake up Christmas morning they are all in their new pajamas when opening their gifts.
The grandkids seem to get a kick out of it.

My favorite holiday tradition is sleeping over my sister's house on New Year's Eve. After watching the ball drop, our kids and husbands go to bed and my sister and I stay up half the night scrapping at her kitchen table. We live across the country from each other so the time together is really special to me.

My favorite tradition was to always wait to open my Dad's gift until last. It would appear Chritmas morning deep under the tree and was always something special.

My favorite holiday tradition is wrapping gifts! As a self-titled paper artist, I just love the gorgeous wrapping paper, ribbons and my hand-made gift tags. I think I often enjoy the outside of the package as much or more than the gift inside!

Love the new Hero Arts zigzag stamp.
My favourite tradition at Christmas is to send Christmas cards. I have too many to send, so I don't make them, instead I create a newsletter with lots of photos and journal a summary of the year. All my friends look forward to my newsletter every year.

My favorite holiday tradition is reading or watching the Christmas story. From when I was a child watching the yearly program narrated by Alexander Scorbee (sp?) on TV, reading the story from the Bible, or watching the "Nativity Story" movie, I never tire of it. I also love baking cookies. Everyone has a favorite, so I try to satisfy each one.
