Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:
Hello zig zag!
I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.
Here's a look at my process:
I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.
I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.
I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.
Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.
And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.
"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.
For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.
Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

I like the small daily activities that enhance the spirit of Christmas throughout the month . . . stories, scriptures, nativities, cookies, giving service, etc.

Beautiful layout, love the journaling.
My favorite holiday tradition is putting up the Nativity. My Mom, years ago, had my 'extra mom' (my best friends Mom) make the Nativity in ceramics and then my Mom gave it to me for my Birthday which is right before Christmas. Every year when I put it up I smile thinking of my two Moms.

Terrific use of the Hero Arts stamp! Thanks for sharing your ideas Ali.
There are so many favourite holiday traditions, but just finding quiet moments one evening to take time out to remember beautiful friends and their gifts, who are no longer with us. Christmas is a special time to give thanks for these people. Memories enrich the present celebration.... Finding stillness in a hectic time is precious!

I love your design Ali, and Hero Arts have some amazing stamps. My favourite holiday tradition is having our real Xmas Day on Boxing Day as it is the only time my husbands family can all be together as we all have other families and things to do on Xmas Day! with my husbands family we have a great time together a lot of them are musical so we do the whole singing family thing which is a lot of fun we sound like one of those old musical movies. We also have a Kris Kringle Nazi by the name of Uncle John who makes us play games and answer trivia to be the next person to dip into the Kris Kringle Bag, its excruciating but a lot of fun at the same time.
