AE Inspiration | Ira Glass On The Creative Process
Tags:I came across this video on Sabrina Ward Harrison's facebook page last night thought it was worth sharing.
Also saw on there that she has a new book/guided journal that's available for pre-order called And The Story Is Happening.
Totally love that title - add that book to my list.

That's GOLD. It's good to hear that we have good taste and that through perseverance we will close the gap. Words of wisdom. Thanks for spreading the good advice, Ali.

Wow! That is something I really needed to hear! I am one of those people who try things out for a bit and if my work is not what I want it to be I give up.
It's so good to hear that others whose work I admire may have struggled with their own expectations of what their work SHOULD look like! I just figured some people were gifted at art and people like me would never be good at it.
Makes me want to perservere and keep working on the creative things I love to do!

Love this. I just had a conversation with my 12 year old son about being good at making things out of clay. He's been introduced to that at school and was disappointed with what he produced because he has such good design instincts. I told him he needs to give himself permission to do some not so good stuff while he is learning about new mediums and techniques. It's OK. It's expected. It's part of learning and getting really good at doing something.
I have to show him this video.

I was already in love with Ira Glass, so this is just another reason to swoon.
On this topic, I thought I'd share some fun facts about Ira and myself:
1. We share a birthday.
2. He is my favorite celeb sighting while I was living in NYC, and the only one that I sort of lost my cool over. I yelled out his name out before I realized what I was doing. He gave me a strange look and then I sheepishly just said, "I'm a big fan of your show."

Coincidences happen for a reason, don't they?? I just read this a few hours ago. Really.
Watching the video sent chills running up and down my spine.
Or maybe the chills came from my cold fingers and toes?
Nah, it was the coincidence.
