Hi Everyone,
What a fabulous and varied list. My word is BRAVERY and 2012 is going to be my year of bravery.
Such an inspiring project. Thank you

My word is "adapt". Having grown up in mild weathered western Oregon, and having a bit of transition in four years in Utah, I am thrown in this year to the winters of New England. Overcoming fears of driving in snow/black ice and adapting to the coldest temps I've ever known as well as adapting to rural rather than suburban life will be my goals of 2012. Already I'm adapting to temps: 20 degrees seems like a heat wave after below zero temps.

for this year i have chosen the word focus. i see it is already on your list and that i should be original but it's a word that keeps coming up in my life all the time - i have the hardest time focusing!!! so this year i have taken on the task to focus - in life, photography, on myself for once, on a career.... - it just seems to speak - well scream - to me. also another one that i will have at the back of my mind is dare. i want to dare myself to take that extra step - to leap this year. i want to double-dog dare myself to do things that normally hold me back and that i think will make our life better. i want to dare myself to love more. to relax more. to accomplish more.

I love all the words mentioned, but for me my word is "hope." Hope for my son's healing, hope for my daughter to have a healthy baby & hope for me to have strength to face the challenge of caring for a quadraplegic son& finding time for myself!

My word is 'Balance' and I'm pleased to see I'm not alone in choosing that one! I need to balance my work and my family, address my bank balance a little more and take a look at those bathroom scales too - I love having a word for the year, its been such a positive and powerful thing in my life.

I LOVE your explanation of balance. Maybe balance will click with me? thank you.

I'm going with Simplify.
I think I may have chosen that for a sub-2011 word too, but with our second baby arriving in a month...simplification in our house is needed.
What does this mean to me? To simplify our life, our home...to purge and value, to enjoy small moments, to not fret over things...to enjoy. :)

I wanted to share my Word of the Year. First, my previous years' words were 2010 - Finish (as in finish things I start) and 2011 -tenacity. It took me an evening to decide on Prosper. I've been mulling on words for awhile and prosper feels right for me.

My word(s) for the year is: Kitchen Table. For real. I know it's two words, I know it's a noun, but I'm really, really excited about all that it means to me this year. I just wrote about it at www.beccagroves.blogspot.com and can't wait to live this one out.

My OLW 2011 was ACT. I fell off the bandwagon in May....
This year I MUST find a source of income. The basement finishing fund has allowed us to float for quite awhile - but the end is in sight.
motivate focus explore quiet entrepreneur finance provide nourish business career change (re)invention direction purpose
blech. I'm struggling.
