Project Life 2012 | Week Ten
Tags:Welcome to Project Life 2012 | Week Ten.
I have to tell you that I really enjoyed working on this particular week yesterday. There was something about going back over it yesterday, seeing the notes I'd jotted down and the photos I'd taken in the midst of a tough week that really helped me take a deep breath of perspective.
It was also a gentle reminder that time and life are marching forward and that today is what I choose to make of it.
I used my new Epson PictureMate Show for a bunch of my photos this week (which was awesome timing since it was time for new ink on my R2000). You can check out my review over on my other blog today.
Here's a look at my Week Ten spread:
The left side:
I used one of the Clementine folded cards opened up for longer journaling about an adventure that Chris and Simon took to the police station.
This is the back of the die-cut vellum quote from last week.
Used word art from my Moving Forward digital brushes and went big right on top of a photo of myself. Some of the word art included in that set is now available as a new clear stamp set called Saying Hello: Scrapbook.com | Two Peas.
The insert for this week is a Design G page protector with the second half cut off to make it smaller. Added a self-adhesive tab along the edge of the insert.
Used my Silhouette to cut some more vellum (loving that) using my Hello Life Boxes Vol. 3. I also had to sneak that cloud vellum paper in again and a piece from that My Mind's Eye Be Amazing chipboard set.
Word art on top of the bottom photo of Anna swinging is Kids Are Cool. That one is also available as a stamp set: Kids Are Cool.
"Be true to yourself" is a sticker from Cosmo Cricket called Tiny Text. I don't think it's available anymore. I love how the die-cut "love" box frames Simon either way the insert lays.
Top right photo with Simon and Katie includes a digital brush from my This One set. The gratitude card can be found in the Life Sentiment Journal Cards Vol.2 set and was printed on photo paper. Letter stickers include an awesome orange set from Bella Blvd (Simply Simona Orange) and two from American Crafts (Amy Tangerine Goodness and Hollyday Silver Elf).
Next to the gratitude card I included a print out of a text conversation from my iphone with Chris about Simon's reading this past weekend.
In our kitchen I cleaned out two shallow drawers and organized the contents dedicating one for Simon's stuff and one for Anna's stuff. This is a favorite place to sit (the laptop can usually be found in this location) and I love having a very specific spot to corral some of their little treasures that tend to live in the kitchen area.
I'm still a fan of metal-rimmed circle tags - these one's I used to hold stamped initials. I cut them with Tim's scissors.
Red ink is from the Woodgrain set and the blue ink is Luxe Metallics (both Colorbox). Red stamps are from Educational Insights.
"Sunday" is from my Today Textured Word Art was added on top of my photo in Photoshop. I put together a simple video on how to copy, cut and paste a word art file to add text in the middle just like I did above:

Hope you guys are having a great week.

Hi Ali,
Love your project life style so much-I'm new to the project but am loving it so far. I was wondering how you are printing off the text conversations from your iphone? (I've also seen it done with the weather) I have an iphone and would like to incorporate things like that but aren't sure how it's being done? Thanks for your help!

if you press the round home button at the bottom while also pressing the small power button at the top it takes a screen shot - saving whatever is on your screen at the time as a photograph. then you can upload it to your computer with your other iphone photos and print it just like any other.

The details on your pages never cease to amaze me. Love them always. So refreshing and never cluttered. Love how you seem to naturally tie everything together in a very cohesive look. Love.

Ali, you rock, even when you're not having the best of weeks. Particularly love that photo with the drawers. And just want to say that I've been reading your blog for years and it's still the only one I look up every day.

Molly's right, so much good stuff. The love box is, of course, my favorite piece, especially how it flips to Simon both ways... lovely!
This project is a gift, one I'd never have started without your inspiration. Thank you for that!

Love the idea of a drawer in the kitchen... wish I would have thought of that when the kids were younger. I turned a back hall closet (close to the kitchen) into shelves...
AS FAR AS REQUESTING SPORTS.... I Have a request. It is very difficult to find anything to do with ROLLERSKATING and RUGBY. I would love to see these in some sort of kit.
Thanks for asking!!
