Stuff That's Been Lifting Me Up

These notes from the universe via tut.com (thanks Danielle). There have been so many that have been so completely right on.
This post from Tara. As real as it gets that one. Last week when we were on vacation I came as close as I could to a media diet. I want to do it again this summer for at least a week - turning it all off and just being for awhile.
Green house plants. I love fresh flowers but I'm finding that I get similar satisfaction from a fern. Any suggestions for favorite indoor plants?
The Who Do You Think You Are episode with Helen Hunt. I totally cried at the end.
5 Books That Could Change Your Creative Game via Todd Henry. I'm most interested in checking out The Everyday Work of Art: Awakening the Extraordinary in Your Daily Life.
The weather changing. Really that's a pretty big thing. Love seeing perennials I planted last year coming up again. Need to get some help with a bit of weeding. Dreaming of all kinds of things for my yard and really committing to spending more time out there this summer (not just working but enjoying and stopping always seeing something that needs to be fixed).

I love Christmas/Easter cactus - I've had several for years - they always survive my neglect while other house plants wither. The bonus is they bloom too!

One of my favorite home blogs just did a 3 part series all about houseplants. Here's a link if you're interested: http://www.thenester.com/2012/04/using-plants-in-your-home-part-1.html. Happy houseplant hunting!

I loved the Helen Hunt episode too....cried at the end and cried again when I told one of my daughter's about it. They're amazing, the women who've gone before us...so very grateful for their hard work and efforts.

I adore staghorn ferns...they remind of dinosaurs. I love the messages from the universe and am always amazed at how they fit my life at the moment. Best part of my morning reading them. Tara's post was the icing on the cake to things I'd been thinking about. I've put them in action and am seeing a change in the way I think and react, which has made positive changes in my life too. Next up a media break which might be good to do during a week in the life to help me "see" my life.

I read Tara's post earlier, I took it to heart...I know much of what she shares, I know how these things impact my life, but knowing gives me no power. I must work on doing. Thank you for sharing and your continued inspiration.

I have house plants all over the house because they help clean the air we breath especially with computers and electronics around. I particularly love Chinese Evergreen Silver Queen and ivies because they are easy to grow. Google 'air cleaning plants' for a list of the best ones.

Lots of good info here for your plant question!
We do a week with no electronics of any kind every April. I'm thinking of having half of the week falling in with WITL so I can document about how we manged all week without all the gadgets.
Sorry to hear that Simon might be sick, cute picture. Maybe he missed home and you after the big trip.

Hey Ali. Just wondering if you had any week in the life posts coming up? I know the actual week is soon, and any post about witl I just devour. Love them.

Yes - most likely it will be Monday. Might be Friday but more likely on Monday. I'm getting all the new layered templates ready to go and getting my own design-plan in order.

I wish I could have some house plants. We have little direct light here. I have an african violet on the counter by my kitchen sink that does fine. Otherwise, not so much. Even our cell phones dont get coverage in most of our house.
