my word is measles - this might be a little off-the-wall but it's the only one that seems to make sense to me right now. i love so many of the words posted and many apply to me also...but i need to shake things up this year. my list is long and there is much i want to do! so measles it is -- me=me, as=as, l=living, learning, loving, e=every, s=second. me as living/learning/loving every second.

Very clever! I hope those values get "stuck on you" and "infect" other people!

I love this idea of anchoring an idea to one word. I had a hard time picking a word and then it just hit me.. acceptance. Acceptance of others and where they are at, which I pretty much do, but more acceptance of me. Who I am is okay, what I am doing right now is the best I can do and it is okay. I want balance in my life, where I don't have to keep striving to be better and prove myself to I don't even know who. I want to stop worrying about being judged. I will accept myself for who I am. Thank you

Oh how I want to join this class. I just don't know if I could spend that kinda of money right now. But if even if I don't join the class I am going with the word "write". I want to write more; blog, journal, book and in general.

After much consideration, I believe my OLW for 2013 is ACHIEVE...it seems to be the one that best encompasses all that I want/intend/hope to do this year.

It took a few days for my One Little Word to come to me. After trying to smush all of my ideas together, I had a revelation in the shower (not a rare occurrence for me!). My OLW for 2013 (and my first time to participate) is grow.

The word that keeps popping into my head is AIM - looking forward to seeing what that will actually mean to me this year. Maybe a continuation of last year's word to purposefully incorporate some things into DAILY life.

My word is IMPRESSION. I want to be conscious of the impression I am giving, intentional or not. But, I also want to be deliberate in leaving an impression, to let the world know I was here.

[...] Here are some words bloggers, educational or otherwise, will focus on for 2013.  Karen Lirenman, a Grade 1 teacher in our school district, wrote about her word recently. You can read her post here.  As a new mom, Kath Younger, writes about her word here.  Jo-anna writes about her word of the year on her A Pretty Life in the Suburbs blog here.  Merry, on her blog Merry With Children, writes about her one word here.   [...]
