Oh, Ali. I'm so sorry for your loss of such a dear family member. I got misty reading your post. I lost my beloved dog just over one year ago and like Lucy, Oreo was around for 11 years and helped me through some difficult days, including the loss of my mother. Oh, these pets...they mean so, so much. I wrote an obituary for her and sent it off to our closest friends and family members...because she was a beautiful animal and so many loved her...and I needed to say something. It helped. Thinking of you and your family...Peace.

Oh Ali. I am so sorry & feeling for you all. I am sure Lilly did stay to see you through the tough times, in a way only dogs can. We lost our very special sheppard 6 years ago now and I am still sad at times but it does get easier & the good memories far out-weigh the saddness of losing him.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Lilly. We had our first golden, Nic, and when the time came to say goodbye when he was ten ( he had cancer), it was very hard but I was so grateful for the time my family had with him . I hope the kids are doing okay and prayers a d positive thoughts your way.

I'm so sorry Ali, I love how you said she was there for you when you needed her most, very sweet. I'm sure her spirit will live on with those that loved her.

So sorry, Ali. I lost my miniature Schnauzer just over a year ago. I still miss him and think of him almost daily--they have such a special place in our lives and in our hearts. I'm convinced we will meet again when I pass from this world. Wishing you and your children healing and peace. Be especially good to yourself while you are missing your dear friend.

Prayers for you and your family, I know what a hole the loss of a beloved dog can leave in your hearts. It has been many years, there are days I expect our dog to greet me when I come in the house.

Oh so sorry for your loss! There is NOTHING like the tried and trusted gift of unconditional companionship that comes from a long time furry family member. I still miss my big dog and I lost him in 2009. Glad she was happy and busy right up till the end, and grateful for you that you had her to lean on during your difficult and challenging time in life. I will have you in my thoughts as you adjust to this difficult loss.
