Studio Calico December Daily™ Kit Now Available For PreOrder

Are you ready to start thinking about the holidays?
I'm actually not ready whatsoever (focusing on Week In The Life next week first of all) but I do have one very favorite holiday tradition that just tends to work best when you plan ahead: December Daily™.
This year I'll be using a kit of supplies put together by Studio Calico which is now available for presale.
I'll have much more info in the coming months including sharing my foundation pages just as I have in years past - which usually happens in October or November.
You can learn more about creating a December Daily™ album and view all of my past albums here.

Woohoo, prepurchased now! I love the 6x8 size for the December Daily pages... This was the size I did last year, as well, and it works so well for it! And the album they have here is perfect with the stars on the cover!

I am so excited for this, we are planning a big holiday trip this year and this will work so well as both dd and a mini vacation album. I've been doing dd for the last 3 years and I love pulling them out each year and reminiscing! It has become a truly special holiday tradition, and dovetails so nicely with Project Life.

Ali, I've not done DD before and would love to this year. I've spent tons of money before for product, but the SC price seemed quite steep for this kit considering contents and volume they may sell. Is this normal for them and comparable to last year's kit? If I don't get SC kit, what do you recommend?
Also, I have not been able to look at your digi templates and such, so not sure if there is one specifically for DD and if that will be set up to the SC album size or flexible for any size album and page protectors.
Thanks for taking time to reply :) (oh, also hope to do my first "Week in the Life" too with you and your faithful followers!

Hi Rhonda - I believe the kit last year was $89. This has never really been a project that was all about a specific kit - it's about documenting your life leading up to Christmas. I'd recommend looking back through my past albums to see my different approaches over the years (http://aliedwards.com/december-daily). I will be creating some overlays for this year that will be available at Designer Digitals in the coming months - most likely they will include a variety of different sizes to accommodate the different sizes people might use (12x12, 8.5x11, 6x8, 4x6 and 3x4) - you'll be able to choose what works best for your set up.
To Ali & Mary G -- Thank you!!:)
I couldn't get rid of this nagging feeling to just do it and so... I did! I bought the Studio Calico December Daily kit and am very excited to join this amazing adventure with everyone. I actually didn't see Mary's post until today, but you hit the nail on the head on many points. Bottom line, this will be my first time doing DD and instead of spending more time, stress, time and heck, even brain power (which is sooo tapped out right now), I just bought it. Not a second of regret and darn it, I spend so much time finding deals and overly justifying things for me (which I don't buy much at all), yet not give a second thought to buying for my 5 yr old! Crazy I know. I need to take care of me. I'm on a journey similar to yours Ali with my marriage (lack there of -- we are separated but living under the same roof) and figuring out myself, life, working 40+ hrs from home, etc. I so admire you and look forward to reading your website daily. You are my therapy :) and it's helping. You give me hope, courage, strength, and comfort that I don't have to have it all worked out and just right. It's a journey. Thank you both, Rhonda
Rhonda, I want to echo Ali's recommendation to check out prior year's albums -- not just hers, but everyone else's as well. The SC kit IS steep, but it is also worth it. Everything is the highest quality and you will have left overs. Having said that, if you are like most of us, you probably have a pretty good stash from which to shop. I listened to Ali, checked out prior years, saw the variety, felt overwhelmed, bought the kit (more of a list of supplies she was using because it was pre-Studio Calico I think) and did not regret it for a single moment. Sure I could have saved money, but it was my first time and I didn't have a clue and I knew it was a busy time of year and I didn't need one more thing to worry about at all. So pick your poison -- think of it as a facial at a high end spa -- you DO deserve it! Next year you will know so much more! What you liked, what you didn't, what you wish you'd known you'll now know; what's really important to you -- story or pictures? what can you really do ahead of time and what can't you? (You'll see Ali always does some things ahead of time, she has kids who always write letters to Santa, always visit Santa, always open their lego Advent calendars. My kids are 25 and 27 so that ain't happenin' for me!) One year my album was all about Occupy Washington and their Christmas Tree, the National Christmas Tree, our Christmas Tree; their stories, stories of tourists at the National Tree, our stories. (I live in DC and those things matter to me.)

Is the year on older dd overlays able to be changed .. 2010 say to 2013? (in case you like that particular design better?) Thanks!

For the 2010 set you could erase the day of the week using the eraser tool in Photoshop and re-write in the correct day of the week for the date.

I went to the link for the pre-order and it says page not found. I'm wondering if it is sold out? If so, will more become available? Love your stuff!!

Curious... was looking through your 2012 pages... and with this new Studio Calico kit, will you be designing your foundation pages the same this year? Debating if I should just use what I have in my stash already and skip the SC kit all together. Want to keep it simple this year... but SOOOOO tempted to just order the SC KIT! It's BEAUTIFUL!
decisions... decisions....

I'll still be doing some foundation pages - printables/overlays just like years past. Working on those ideas now :).
