Favorite Memory Keeping Office Supplies

Office Supplie For Memory Keeping | aliedwards.com

When I was working on Project Life® 2014 | Week Nine and added in those 4 inch x 6 inch lined cards I was thinking about how much I love incorporating office supplies into my memory keeping projects.

Here's some of my favorites:

  • Copic Markers | Probably not technically an office supply, but I just got this set of these and am loving playing with them - especially the brush tip (and using the black for some of my digital word art that I write and then scan before saving as PNG files).

  • Avery Index Tabs | I use these all the time on inserts in Project Life®. They are a favorite.

  • Staedtler Fine Tip Pens | Wilna recommended these and I really like them as a thicker tip permanent pen. A nice alternative to the Precision Pens.

  • Avery Metal Rimmed Tags | Another product I've used for years on layouts and in Project Life®. Here's how I used them in Week 23 (2013).

  • Rolling Date Stamp | This is my preferred way to get a date on my layouts. Simple and easy.

  • 4x6 Ruled Index Cards | These are something I've had in my stash for a long time for Project Life® and just used one for a title card for the first time in Week 9. A nice alternative to cardstock or other pattern journaling cards.

Is there anything you guys love picking up from the office supply store to use in your memory keeping projects?

One of my "go to's" for my journaling is BIC Mark-it Fine Tip Permanent Markers (Office Max carries them and so does Shoplet.com).

They come in so many colors - which I love (I buy the big pack!) and they last a long time! I bought my set for our 2011 Project Life books, used them every day (through 3 albums that year), then used them again for our 2012 books (2 more books - same set of pens). I have also used them on 3 PL mini albums and they are still going strong! I store them horizontally and have not had a problem with any of them drying out yet. I don't know how archival safe they are but being that I only use them on the cards and not the photos, I don't worry so much about the archival part.

Thank you for sharing your favorites! I will be checking out some of those for sure!

Living in Australia, it is really annoying that some of these basic items, like the 2 inch tabs and metal rim tags aren't sold here. I ordered some of those from an American supplier! I did find some stick on Note Tabs which work ok. We do have a stationery product line here called Collections & Co and they have awesome manilla folders in white/kraft stripes and ampersand and old typewriter prints on the front. I have cut these up lots of times to use as the base for pages in albums.

I like using the file folder labels from Martha Stewart. I buy them at Staples. The colors match my PL cards and they are a great way to add a bit of journaling to my photos very quickly.

I use many different sizes of Avery labels. The 8.5 x 11 labels are great for producing my own stickers. I also love Martha Stewart file labels from Staples. They come in great colors and I use them throughout my journals.

A great mix of supplies here! I love the metal rimmed tags and I also love my copics! I really need to try getting some of the index tabs to try out as well... I think they would be awesome in something like December Daily :)

I have a whole bunch of Copic markers that I bought years ago when I was into stamping and making cards. I don't really have time to make cards anymore, but I am into my 4th year of PL. I would LOVE for you to please show us some examples of how you use the Copics, I would love to put them back into use. Many thanks. Smiles from South Africa :)

I use the plain 4x6 cards often. My Label maker to label stamp pads, and embellishment organizers. I also use a lot of Martha Stewart labels on my PL. These are at Staples. Other sticky labels in other office supply stores. I use the 8 1/2 x ll sheet protectors by Avery. There's probably others I'm forgetting. Lot's of women love to shop at a clothing store, I love office supply stores. So many great lovely things!

I use cute paper clips. You can find different shapes and colors at Staples and sometimes Target.

I love to see what you use/like, so fun, and gives you great ideas!!!

I LOVE the photo sleeve's ( not sure what exactly they are called) but its the one's that you did whole post on, she was a guest and showed her system of organizing like for example your stamp sets from Technique Tuesday.

They WORK great, can flip right throuh them in a flash, and SO much better than trying to fit the stamp set back into the plastic.

    Thanks Ali!

Peggy, I use the Signo Uni-Ball pen for white pen journaling both on paper and photos. I also use the Sharpie poster paint pens in white. I really love the Signo pen. I haven't looked for them at an office supply store; I just order them from scrapbook.com.

I am a real sucker for office supplies too. One of my go to "tools" is my Dymo lable maker. Just love that look. I also use my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher a lot.

I usually use fluorescent neon marker to emphasize on important notes. These images opened me up to a new memory keeping office supplies. I am really thankful that you shared this information.
