So you want to talk about scrapbooking?
Tags:Scrapbooking is just one part of my life. It has become a big part, but it is still just a piece in the bigger story. And of course, I love it.
I have had some requests to take some questions from you guys about scrapbooking, about how I scrap, what the heck I think about, favorites, design-stuff, etc. Go ahead and leave me a question or two in the comment section and I will post responses in the next couple days.
In the meantime, check out this site: ONE and do something big in one simple little step.

Boy, you are sure up early today.
I don't really have a question but wouldn't mind seeing more pictures of your scrap area, especially if you have anymore "new finds".
I love your style, it just seems so... I don't know, can't find the right word (natural, flowing, relaxed, do able).

Hi Ali- I would also like to see more of your scrap room. What do you think about when you are laying out your pages? Do you favor a specific style such as more linear or circular?
Thank you for all that you do create. You are so inspiring!

So glad to see that someone else posted the link to the One Declaration - such a worthy cause.
As far as scrapbooking...I totally love your journaling. I think it's the most important part of any page. Capturing the moment, the memory, the event. What is your most important goal in scrapbooking?

My question is how do you organize your cardstock? I am trying to decide whether I should organize it by color. I currently have it organized by color if it isn't a part of a specific pattern paper group...ie. scrapworks by bazzill. (I only have bazzill papers) The cardstock that is meant to go with a certain group of pp I have with that companies papers. The trouble is I don't tend to consider it when I am looking for a certain color cardstock since it is "hidden away" with it's sister pp. What do you think...combine it with all the others or keep it seperate for coordination with the matching pp? Long explaination eh?
Thanks for your time.

I'm in love with Kraft cardstock lately. You seem to use it quite a bit too. Any tips for making your Layouts "pop" when using such a subdued backdrop like Kraft? Pop, in that subtle, relaxed way you have.
Thanks.

lol! Umm, my pregunta would be:
How do you get out of scrap "boredom"??? There are only so many things you can do w/ kids, husbands, family etc. The reason I was attracted to your work in the first place was b/c you scrapped ordinary things, moments, defining times. But even that can become stagnant. How do you constantly keep it fresh?

Ali...I just wanted to tell you how much I love your book. It is truly amazing. I started with the concept that I would read it like a novel and not just browse the layouts...but it was impossible. I can't wait to sit down with a cup of coffee and read it from cover to cover. Thanks for sharing your scrapping talents and for inspiring me to scrap more meaningful.

My question is very similar to kristi's: what inspires you? Also, how do you avoid what often happens to me--at an event, sometimes I am so focused on pictures to scrap, etc., that I find that I am not truly enjoying or "in" the moment!

would you be interested in participating in a collaborative project with mixed media and art journals artists?! I would like to host a round robin with both scrapbook and mixed media artists...

My list seems like a school test. :)
Did you have a ‘now I get it moment’? Like you’re going along making nice pages and then one day a lightbulb turns on and you found your place in this world.
Is there a topic for your new book yet?
What is your favorite product line right now?
What do you do with your scraps?

Okay, here we go... Most people achieve success by advancing through a series of stepping stones. What do you feel like your biggest "stone" was. :-)

Ali,
I was wondering how you start a LO? I would love to just sit watch as you start to create a LO and what your process is. That is always the hardest part for me...deciding what to use (oh the choices!) and how to use it to create exactly what I want to say.
Also I was wondering about how long it takes for you to create a LO? I take forever usually and am trying to get over that "perfection" problem I have and just go with the flow! LOL.
Thanks so much for doing this. I think you are awesome!
Paige
P.S. I have your book and love it. I'm always scraplifting something in it because it's so inspiring!

Ali--love your style! It's so clean and simple--I've tried modeling some of my layouts after yours!
My questions are how do you get out of a scrap rut? I'm in one now and just am not feeling creative or imaginative or knowing just what to do next (what pictures to choose, what paper to use, what size album...) Do you ever feel overwhelmed and if so, how do you get that feeling to go away? I have so many albums right now that I'm working on or need to start working on that I think feeling overwhelmed has led to putting me in my scrap rut!

I know I'm not alone when I say that one of the things I love most about your work is your ability to create a page {a memory} about the little things in life {which are really the big things} - a typical day - your love of order - things you enjoy, etc. I think these are the kinds of pages that I really love because they allow you to show who you really are - your signature.
What are your favorite layouts about the little things in life?
I'm amazed at your ability to take pictures of these little things in life - instead of just the typical "events." Do you keep your camera with you at all times?
Thanks for the opportunity to ask questions! You are always so inspiring.
