Little gifts.
Tags:We get them everyday. Little gifts that just make things better. Could be a couple little kisses from Simon when he comes home from school, a call from overseas that we are good on all the product for classes in the Netherlands, a friend helping me out with some mailings, a snickerdoodle snuck from the cabinet above the fridge, a call from my awesome editor and a conversation about the book, or a peek around the corner to see Chris and Simon snuggling together on one of our big red chairs this morning.
Today, the little gifts I received were pretty easy to see. Somedays it can be a bit more challenging.
But they are always there...
Starting to get really excited for this trip. Even looking around here and seeing the chaos of moving is not phasing me too much - LOL - in my old age I am getting better at "going with the flow" - as people who have taken classes from me before know - it really is one of my life mantras. And, "it is OK." And, as you can see on the sign below, "Be organic." It is pretty much all about keeping it in perspective.
Thanks for the photo Jennifer. And for coming to my class. And for having such a cool scarf that I totally wanted to bring home...man, meeting people is the best.
And one more shot for the day...the beginnings of my new studio space. It is off the kitchen in a family/great room area. Lovely light. On the other side of my computer desk will be my other metal shelf unit. And my table will go in the middle of the room. Should be interesting seeing how I can get all my stuff in here.
That will have to wait a couple weeks...

The new blog header is super cool. Love the photo of Simon and DH. Good luck to you on the trip. Man oh man your room looks awesome already. I've been in mine about 5 years and it's a freaking MESS. I guess I need to move to get things organized.

Love your "little gifts" thoughts! I sooo felt the same way today as I had just gotten my bigger guy on the bus and I was watching my littlest skip down the driveway ahead of me and I schlepped behind in my slippers, jeans and jammie top with tea in hand smelling the fresh fall leaves and beautiful colors around me(not too much of a run on sentence, hunh?) But all I could think is, "I sure am blessed." Followed that early morning up with a 4 mile walk with a good friend while our little guys were at Nursery school that ended at the coffee shop! That was great-yet, it all ended(ha) when my older son hurled all over the toilet and floor in the bathroom at the restaurant at dinner and the bitchy bartender was complaining that SHE had to clean it up!!! I did the best I could! I felt so bad for my little guy!! Ah, yes-there is the reality! LOL! But all in all it was a WONDERFUL day and you really DO need to take something good away from each day because it is always there! Your the best Ali!

Have a great time in the Netherlands -- they are an absolutely gorgeous part of the world -- I've been fortunate enough to visit a few times, and have loved every trip. Take LOTS of pictures!

Glad to see you carved out a nifty little space for yourself.
Chris and Simon look so cozy and happy sitting there in the chair that is my favorite color. I want an oversized red chair and ottoman really bad.
Have fun in The Netherlands! Take lots and lots of pics. :)

Ali, I love reading your blog. Today as I was reading and looking at your photos I see your wonderful Macintosh!! I'm a mac lover for a long time. I think I'm on my fourth or fifth one. I currently have a G4 tower and a Powerbook. My Powerbook goes where I go. YEA.
Any way it's nice to connect with people even in little ways.

Ali: I just love your blog - your life persepective is so refreshing! Good luck with the move - you seem to be off to a great start! I am very excited to have just registered to take two of your classes at the Get Croppin' event in Virginia in February. I cannot wait!
That weekend will be the first away after weaning my daughter, I will not not have "chicken nugget cutting" repsonsibility for my son, Rory, and I will get to sleep in hotel room all night by meyself and GET UP WHENEVER I WANT! Talk about MAJOR ME TIME!!! Needless to say, your classes are just the chocolate icing on an already yummy, double-layer, chocolate with caramel drizzles cake!
Have fun in the Netherlands!
