Tags:Just a bunch of things milling around in my mind this morning:
• needing to : exercise, eat better, simplify stuff, address my spending issues again, get some CKU-A stuff together & kits for classes at Art House in Portland
• thankful for : a really great email from my friend Dona, Chris taking control of taking Simon to school & finding afternoon childcare, getting more pages done for my next book (and a little timeline extension)
• obsessing about : Adhesives. Yep. Adhesives. I have picked up a bunch of new ones recently...especially glue sticks. My favorite new one was introduced to me at Photo Express - it is the Square Dual Edge Photo Glue Stick. There is something so "raw" about glue sticks that I am totally into right now...maybe it takes me back to that "playful" attitude of childhood. Picking out images and sticking them down. Hey, that sounds a lot like what I am doing right now.
I also like the packaging on the Tombo Mono Agua Liquid Glue. Have not really tried it yet so I can't tell you about its effectiveness...but I can tell you that I like the packaging...feels good in my hands.
• getting ready : to attend the Oregon Summit this weekend to support my husband...more to come on this one later on...

Democrat, eh? ;)
I've become a little obsessed about adhesives lately. It's gotten to the point where people will call and ask to borrow one, or ask what they should use with what. :) It's become an entire drawer full!
I haven't heard of this one. Let us know how it works!

Have fun at the Summit. Joe Wilson is the keynote speaker. Sounds interesting. I think we all know Rove is the traitor/leaker.

Hey. I just wanted to throw in my opinion for the Tombo Mono. I love it. It's the only adhesive I use because it;s really effetive and works on everything.

side note on the glue.....my ab favorite Mono Multi (it is in a little green triangular shaped bottle. It is the kind of glue that works 2 ways. You can put it on and let it dry and then stick it and it is repositional or do it the wet contact way aka the regular way to use glue. This glue has a lot of staying power. It holds heavy items too.

I got addicted to glue sticks after taking Donna D's class. Have fun at the summit. I heard Joe speak last year in at an event in Seatle..great guy!

The tombo glue in the blue bottle is good if you want to permanently adhere something- with no intention of ever repositioning! also, it bleeds through thin paper or photo paper- for tougher jobs with heavy cardstock it works well- but i find myself cursing it more than loving it! our SS is having a 50% off purchase this weekend- i just might have to try a glue stick instead!

Hiya ... just a totally off-the-wall question, relating to the Summit: What's the issue with Wal-Mart? (PS - I'm not American) It's the 2nd time I've heard a neg about them, & am curious about the politics.
Wrt glues ... we're pretty limited here to Zig-pens (which I dig anyway, so that's cool) ... will have to get cracking online & check out some o' your stocks! ;-) Hugs for a gr8 w/end!

sounds like things are getting to be right where they should be. I'm happy for you guys....now, onto glue. I'm a fan of the liquid mono stuff...I use it to adhere all my skinny letters ever since my Sailor Glue pen died and I can't find a replacement. I hope it works well for you...I think the trick is MODERATION...I can do it with glue, it's just the other areas in my life that I struggle with :) c

I just wanted to mention that my husband was in Portland last week for a confrence, he had one of the tour buses take him the 10 blocks to Art House. When he got there he called me to see what I wanted. That was cute, but the he called me back to say that you were teaching there. I know that the women in that shop must have been hysterical. He did well, he came home with 10 sheets of 12x12 craft paper and heidi swapps book! I just wanted to share that story with you. :)

Interesting that you mention adhesives in your Blog today. My husband, like me, is a graphic designer. Yesterday he brought me two BIG roles of different width double sided tape - archival, even! I told him, "you really spoke to my heart with this 'happy." Imagine, tape can make your wife so happy!"
I'm glad to know someone else understands!
hehehehe,
Stacey
